Product description
The roll-on bottle with a volume of 10 ml is used for filling and applying liquid products that are dispensed in small amounts directly onto the skin. The set consists of a glass medicine bottle with a thick base, a metal roller ball in a plastic holder and a black cap with an 18/410 neck finish. The thick base gives the small bottle stability, and the clear glass shows the colour of the filling and the liquid level. The whole set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
What it is suitable for
As it moves over the skin, the ball applies a thin layer exactly where it is needed. Typical fillings for a roll-on bottle are oil-based perfumes and fragrance blends diluted in a carrier oil, which are applied to the wrists, neck or temples. It also works for cuticle oil, a light oil serum for the eye or lip area, or a small amount of alcohol-based perfume. The 10 ml volume suits products that are used up drop by drop, so it is also suitable for samples and travel packs of your own cosmetics.
- Targeted application – the ball dispenses a thin film without the product running or being wasted.
- No contact with fingers – the contents are applied directly from the bottle, which you will appreciate with oils for pulse points or serums for the eye area.
- Overview of the filling – through the clear glass you can see the colour of the blend and the remaining amount, so you know when to refill.
- Stable stance – the thick base keeps the bottle steady when filling with a dropper and when standing on a dressing table.
How to fill and use it
Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the holder with the ball, wiping them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. Residual moisture does not belong in an oil-based perfume, and with water-based or hydrosol fillings it increases the risk of microbial contamination.
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume, that is, the amount the packaging is intended for with normal filling. The total volume up to the brim is larger. The headroom in the neck is needed for the ball holder, which is pressed into the neck after filling, and for slight expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If more is added, part of the filling will overflow around the neck when the ball is inserted.
Pour in the filling with a dropper or through a narrow funnel, press the holder with the ball evenly into the neck until it seats, and only then screw on the cap. With oils, it is worth letting the bottle stand for a while and checking that nothing leaks around the holder.
On first use, the ball starts rolling after a few passes, once its surface is wetted by the filling. With alcohol-based perfumes, close the bottle immediately after use so that the alcohol does not evaporate unnecessarily.
Good to know
The roll-on mechanism works with liquid fillings. Oils, alcohol solutions, hydrosols and thin serums are dispensed without problems. The ball cannot pick up thick gels, balms or emulsions with higher viscosity evenly, and the product stays in the bottle.
Clear glass does not protect against light. We recommend storing blends with essential oils, oil-based perfumes and other light-sensitive fillings in the dark or in a box, or choosing dark glass for them.
The ball holder and the cap are made of polypropylene (PP), while the ball itself is steel. With undiluted essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing how the plastic holder behaves with the specific blend, especially for longer storage. The glass withstands normal cleaning with warm water, but avoid sudden temperature changes, for example hot water on a cold bottle.
The set can be used repeatedly. When changing the filling, carefully pry the holder with the ball out of the neck with a thin tool, then wash, disinfect and dry all parts. The scent of a previous oil-based perfume may not be removed completely from the PP holder, so when changing the fragrance it is worth replacing the holder with a new one.
The bottle has an 18/410 neck finish and can also be combined with other closures with the same neck type from the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing with the specific formulation.
For disposal, the glass bottle goes in glass recycling and the cap in plastics recycling. The holder with the steel ball is a composite part, so separate it from the bottle before discarding.
