Product description

The plastic tablet jar with a black lid is a transparent container with a wide neck and a screw-on lid for loose, solid and paste-like products. The transparent wall shows the contents at a glance, which is useful wherever appearance is part of the sale: bath salts, bath fizz tablets, powder masks, capsules or loose raw materials. The wide neck makes filling and scooping with a spoon easy. The set includes both the jar and the lid – simply fill and close.

The jar is made of PET, the lid of polypropylene with a foam sealing insert. The complete set – jar and lid together – is approved for direct contact with food and with cosmetic products. It is therefore equally suitable for herbal blends, teas, spices or dried fruit as for cosmetics.

What the set is suitable for

  • Bath salts and fizz tablets – the wide neck and transparent wall let the colour and texture of the product stand out.
  • Powder masks and scrubs – loose products are conveniently scooped and dosed from the jar.
  • Capsules, tablets and food supplements – the jar is designed for tablets and the transparent wall lets you see how much content remains.
  • Food and herbs – thanks to the food-contact approval, it is suitable for teas, spices, seeds or dried herbs.
  • Thicker creams, butters and balms – for products that are scooped with a finger or spatula, customers will appreciate the wide opening.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the jar is intended under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a margin for the lid, for movement of loose contents during transport, and for product expansion with temperature changes. The jar is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. For loose products, it is also practical to leave free space above the contents so that they can be scooped easily after opening.

When filling with powders and salts, fill the jar no higher than the bottom of the neck. The lid can then be tightened without catching granules in the thread, and the sealing insert sits flush all the way around.

What is good to know

Transparent PET does not protect the contents from light. For products sensitive to light – for example those containing essential oils, natural colorants or oils prone to oxidation – we recommend storing filled jars in the dark or in secondary packaging. For such products, an opaque or dark jar is more suitable.

Plastic and aggressive ingredients. PET tolerates aqueous solutions, salts, powders, oils and common cosmetic bases well. At high concentrations of essential oils, alcohol-based preparations or solvents, check the behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation, or opt for glass. The jar is not intended for hot filling – allow the product to cool before filling.

Preparation before first filling. We recommend rinsing both the jar and the lid, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing them to dry completely. When reusing, check the condition of the sealing insert in the lid. If it is deformed or has absorbed the scent of the previous contents, do not use the lid for another product.

The black lid with foam insert prevents the contents from spilling, but is not an airtight seal. For fizz tablets and hygroscopic salts, we recommend adding a desiccant sachet and not storing the jar in a bathroom.

Labelling. The jar wall offers space for a label all the way around. A transparent film label also works well on the transparent wall, keeping the contents visible.

Lid. The set includes a black lid with the same neck type as the jar. Additional lids with the same neck type are available in the Handymade range; when combining your own parts, we recommend checking the seal with the specific product.

Recycling. The jar belongs in sorted plastic waste as PET, the lid as polypropylene. Unscrew and empty them before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 250 ml plastic tablet jar suitable for food?
Yes, both the jar and the black lid have individual declarations of suitability for direct food contact, so the complete set is approved for food use. It is suitable for teas, herbs, spices, dried fruit or food supplements. The declaration of conformity can be found on the product page.
Does the transparent tablet jar protect the contents from light?
No, transparent PET transmits light and does not protect the contents. For products sensitive to light, such as blends with essential oils or natural colorants, we recommend storing the jar in the dark or in a box. If light protection is important, choose an opaque or dark container.
Can cream or balm be filled into the tablet jar?
Yes, the wide neck allows comfortable filling and scooping of thicker products such as body butters, balms or scrubs. Fill the product when cooled – PET is not intended for hot filling. For anhydrous balms with a higher proportion of essential oils, check the behaviour of the plastic with the specific formulation.
Does the black jar lid seal against moisture?
The lid with a foam sealing insert prevents the contents from spilling and restricts the entry of ambient moisture, but it is not airtight. For hygroscopic salts and fizz tablets, we recommend adding a desiccant sachet and not storing the jar in a humid environment. Before tightening, check that no product granules remain in the thread.
How much product fits into the 250 ml tablet jar?
The jar is intended for a nominal volume of 250 ml, which corresponds to normal filling up to the bottom of the neck. The physical volume to the brim is slightly larger and provides a margin for the lid and movement of contents. The weight of the fill depends on the bulk density of the product; for salts it will be higher than for light powders or capsules.
