This is a set of a transparent plastic jar and a white screw-on lid, ready for immediate filling. The jar has a wide neck through which the contents pour out and are removed conveniently, and the transparent PET shows the amount and colour of the filling without opening. It is lightweight and resistant to breakage, so it is also suitable for shipping and for the bathroom, where glass could crack.

The set is intended mainly for loose and solid fillings: bath salts, fizzing bombs, bath tablets, powder masks and scrubs, herbal blends or solid bath cubes. The label "for pills" describes a type of jar with a neck adapted for removing piece contents, not a specific use. Both the jar and the lid are approved for direct contact with food, so they are equally suitable for spices, dried herbs, food supplements or homemade tea blends. For cosmetic products the set is declared as suitable.

How the jar and lid work together

The lid is made of polypropylene and has a foamed polyethylene liner on the inside. When tightened, the liner sits on the jar neck and improves the seal against moisture and spilling. This is important especially for salts and powders, which easily absorb moisture. Both parts have the same type of neck, given in the parameters, and are matched to each other, so there is no need to search or test anything.

It is a simple screw-on system without a dispenser. The contents are removed directly by hand, with a measuring cup or a spoon. Suitable for products such as

• Bath salts and bath blends – the wide neck allows salt to be removed with a measuring cup, the transparent wall shows the colour and any dried flowers in the blend.
• Fizzing bombs and bath tablets – piece contents can be removed without crushing, the lid liner limits access of moisture that prematurely activates fizzing blends.
• Powder masks, scrubs and dry shampoos – anhydrous powders require dry storage, which the sealing liner supports.
• Food and supplements – spices, dried herbs, tea blends, capsules or pastilles, since the set is certified for contact with food.
• Tools and small material – cotton pads, pumice stones, rubber bands or samples of raw materials when working in the workshop.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the jar is intended for under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is always somewhat larger. The difference forms a reserve for the lid, so that the contents do not press on the sealing liner, and space for the contents to move when opening. The jar is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. With loose fillings this also allows the contents to be shaken before use.

What is good to know before filling

Before first use, wash the jar and lid, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Residual moisture is the most common cause of lumps and clumping of salt with loose fillings. The set is suitable for repeated use, but before the next filling check the sealing liner for damage or permanent compression.

PET is stable against common salts, sugars and dry powders. It is less suitable for fillings with a high proportion of essential oils or organic solvents, which can cloud or soften the wall over the long term. With perfumed salts at normal fragrance dosing this is usually not a problem; with concentrated blends verify compatibility by test storage. The jar is not primarily intended for liquid fillings. If you want to use it for them, test the tightness while lying down and during transport.

The transparent material does not protect the contents from light. Fillings sensitive to light, for example blends with natural colourants, dried flowers or fragrance components, store in the dark or expect gradual fading. The smooth cylindrical wall labels well. The PET jar and the polypropylene lid belong in separated plastic collection after use.
