- Sodium PCA 50% is a naturally derived moisturizing ingredient that belongs to the so‑called NMF – Natural Moisturizing Factors . It is obtained by fermentation of glucose followed by neutralization of L‑pyroglutamic acid. Thanks to its high ability to bind and retain water in the skin, it ranks among the most effective humectants used in cosmetics. This raw material is available as a 50% aqueous solution, which facilitates its incorporation into formulations.
