Plastic spray pump, black, 20/410

Plastic spray pump with 20/410 thread turns a bottle or small bottle with the same neck type into a spray. It suits formulas applied in fine doses over a larger area: facial tonics, hydrolates and light sprays for the face, hair or body. A single press releases a small amount of product, so it is used up evenly and without spillage.

Use with a bottle and formula

The spray pump fits onto a bottle with a 20/410 neck and is tightened by hand. Matching bottles and ready-made bottle + pump combinations are available in the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend checking the thread seal, the action of the mechanism and how the closure behaves with the specific formula.

The clear dip tube should end just above the bottom of the bottle. If it is longer than the chosen bottle, it can be trimmed to the required length with a sharp knife or scissors. A diagonal cut is best so the end does not stick to the bottom and the pump draws product down to the last few doses.

The spray pump is designed for thin aqueous solutions: hydrolates, tonics, water-glycerin blends and light alcohol-based sprays. The thicker the contents, the harder they are to draw up and atomise. Gels, emulsions and viscous serums are not suitable for this type of closure. With liquid oils and formulas containing a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing the plastic's compatibility and spray quality in advance, as PP may not be compatible with every ingredient in the long term.

Good to know

Before first use, it is recommended to rinse the pump with clean water, or with a solution of isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and let it dry completely. A damp mechanism could dilute or spoil the first doses of product.

A new spray pump needs to be primed with several pumps before the first spray, so the dip tube and chamber fill with product. If it still does not spray after priming, the usual cause is the dip tube lying flat on the bottom or a loose thread through which the mechanism draws in air instead of product.

The spray pump can be used repeatedly. When changing the contents, rinse it with warm water and pump through clean water several times to flush any residue of the previous product from the mechanism. Dried residue from alcohol or glycerin blends can gradually degrade spray quality over time. Do not put it in the dishwasher or in boiling water.

The packaging material is suitable for use with cosmetic products and complies with the applicable regulatory requirements. A declaration of conformity is available with the product.

At the end of its service life, the spray pump belongs in the plastic waste stream.
