Fine Mist Sprayer, White, Glossy Silver Collar, 24/410

Plastic spray pump 24/410 breaks liquid contents into a fine mist and applies it evenly, without the hands touching the product. It screws onto any bottle with a 24/410 neck and is intended for watery and thin products: facial and body toners, hydrosols, refreshing mists, hair sprays, scalp solutions, disinfectant and alcohol-based solutions, or room sprays. The white head with a glossy silver ring gives the bottle a metallic look. The head is protected by a clear cap that shields the nozzle from dust and from being pressed accidentally during transport.

The spray pump is suitable for use with cosmetic products and meets the relevant legislative requirements. A declaration of conformity is available with the product.

How it works and what to combine it with

• Dosing – each press of the head draws up and disperses a small, always equal amount of the contents. It is therefore suited to products that are applied repeatedly and in small doses.
• Dip tube – a tube runs from the head down to the bottom of the bottle. It is supplied in a length for standard bottles; for a shorter bottle it is trimmed.
• Materials – the body and mechanism are made of polypropylene and other plastics, the ring of aluminium. Polypropylene is light, unbreakable and resistant to common water- and alcohol-based contents.
• 24/410 neck – the spray pump fits any bottle with this thread regardless of its material. For your own combination we recommend checking the tightness and the behaviour of the closure with the specific formulation.

Use in practice

The spray pump works best with contents of a water-like consistency. The thicker the product, the harder it is to form a mist. The nozzle will not disperse thickened toners, gels or emulsions of higher viscosity; the stream is interrupted or comes out in drops. A dispensing pump is more suitable for such products.

Solubilised essential oils and alcohol-based solutions pass through the spray pump without problems. With thin oils the mist is coarser, so we recommend testing the result on a sample. Contents with undissolved particles (exfoliating additives, pigments, sediment from extracts) can clog the nozzle.

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. A reserve in the neck is needed for the tube and the spray pump mechanism. If overfilled, the contents overflow when screwing on and the closure seals poorly.

Good to know

• First use – a new spray pump needs to be "primed": after screwing it on, press the head several times in a row until the tube fills and the mist is even. Before filling with cosmetics we recommend rinsing the spray pump with clean water or a solution of ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and letting it dry.
• Repeated use – after thorough rinsing with warm water and then alcohol, the spray pump can be used again. However, residues of oils and thickeners in the mechanism gradually worsen its operation, so when switching products a new spray pump is preferable.
• Material resistance – polypropylene withstands water, alcohol and common cosmetic ingredients. With higher concentrations of undiluted essential oils or solvents we recommend verifying resistance on a sample.
• Transport – the clear cap protects the head from being pressed. When shipping finished products, store the bottle upright and secure it against tipping over.
• Recycling – the closure combines plastic and an aluminium ring. Before disposal, unscrew it from the bottle so that the bottle can be sorted according to its material.
