Product description
Glass dropper bottle 15 ml made of white glass is designed for small quantities of cosmetics that are sensitive to light. The opaque glass reduces light transmission and conceals the contents, making it suitable for facial and oil serums, blends of carrier and essential oils, perfume oils, and concentrated active ingredients.
The small volume is practical for formulations dispensed drop by drop and used slowly, for samples and test batches of a new recipe, or for travel-size packaging. Glass is non-reactive, does not absorb fragrances or colorants, and is compatible with oil-based, alcohol-based, and water-based contents. The packaging material is suitable for use with cosmetic products and meets the applicable regulatory requirements.
Key features
- Light protection – white glass transmits significantly less light than clear glass, which helps slow down the oxidation of sensitive oils and active ingredients.
- Chemical resistance of glass – glass does not react with essential oils, alcohol, or acidic or alkaline formulations, making it suitable even for concentrated blends that might damage some plastics.
- Small volume – 15 ml corresponds to a typical dosage of facial serums and oils; the contents are used up before they have a chance to lose quality.
- Uniform appearance – opaque white glass creates a consistent look across an entire product range regardless of the colour of the contents.
- Ready-made combinations – the bottle has a standard neck type for which you will find caps, droppers, pumps, and sprayers in the Handymade range.
Usage and filling
The bottle has a nominal volume of 15 ml. This is the quantity the packaging is designed for under normal filling conditions. The total capacity to the brim, stated in the specifications, is larger — it is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between the two values is the headspace for the closure, dropper or pump, and for expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. When using a dropper, bear in mind that its tube takes up some space in the neck.
When filling thicker oils or serums, a small funnel or a needle-free syringe will help keep the neck clean and ensure the closure seats properly. Aqueous and alcohol-based contents (tonics, tinctures, perfume concentrates) fill without difficulty; glass does not react with them.
Before the first fill, wash the bottle in warm water with a small amount of detergent, rinse thoroughly, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave to dry completely with the neck facing down. Residual water in an oil-based product can promote microbial growth.
Choosing a closure
The bottle's thread type is listed in the product parameters. Closures with the matching neck type – caps, droppers, pumps or sprayers – and ready-made bottle + closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend testing seal integrity and dispensing with your specific formulation: thick oils dispense more slowly from a dropper, while thin alcohol-based contents may leak if the closure does not seal properly.
For cosmetics with a high proportion of essential oils or alcohol, pay attention to the closure material. Glass itself withstands these substances without issue, but the gasket or plastic parts of a dropper may soften or lose their seal over time.
Useful things to know
- Glass and heat – the bottle is not intended for filling with hot contents; a sudden change in temperature can crack the glass. Allow emulsions and balms to cool before filling.
- Beware of drops – glass is fragile and will break if dropped on a hard surface. For travel use, a protective pouch or sturdy box is recommended.
- Labelling – a self-adhesive label adheres well to the smooth surface; size it to match the bottle dimensions stated in the specifications. For oil-based products, choose a grease-resistant label.
- Reuse – glass does not wear with repeated filling. When changing contents, always wash and disinfect the bottle; residues from the previous product can contaminate a new batch or alter its scent.
- Recycling – the bottle belongs in glass recycling; simply rinse it and remove the closure before disposal.
