Product description

The black matte dropper with a glossy stripe is a dosing closure for bottles with an 18/415 thread. The contents are dispensed drop by drop, making it particularly suitable for facial serums, oil blends, tinctures and concentrated active ingredients where small, repeatable amounts matter. The matte black collar with a glossy stripe complements black and dark bottles into a coherent whole.

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a collar made of polypropylene (PP) and a silicone bulb used to draw up the contents. The glass tube is resistant to oils, essential oils and alcohol bases, making it suitable for a wider range of contents than droppers with a plastic tube.

Key properties

  • Precise dosing – contents are dispensed drop by drop, which is valuable for serums, concentrates and essential oil blends.
  • Glass tube – will not absorb the scent or colour of the product and can be thoroughly cleaned.
  • Silicone bulb – remains flexible even with frequent use and draws up liquid evenly.
  • Matte black surface with a glossy stripe – a uniform look with matte black bottles without any additional decoration.

Which bottles does it fit

The dropper is designed for bottles with an 18/415 thread neck. In the Handymade range you will find them together with ready-made bottle and dropper combinations. In addition to the thread, the length of the glass tube (stated in the parameters) must also match. The tube should end just above the bottom of the bottle so that the remaining contents can also be drawn up, but it should not rest against the bottom. For your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dosing with the specific formula.

When selecting a dropper, compare the tube length with the height of the bottle from the neck to the bottom. With a shorter tube, an inaccessible residue remains at the bottom; with a longer tube, the tube rests against the bottom and the dropper cannot be properly tightened.

Suitable for products such as

  • facial and hair serums with lower viscosity that are applied drop by drop;
  • oil serums and blends of vegetable oils for the face, beard or nail cuticle;
  • tinctures and alcohol extracts, for which the glass tube does not react with alcohol;
  • diluted essential oil blends and perfume oils for spot application;
  • concentrated active ingredients that are added to cosmetics drop by drop.

The dropper is not suitable for thick creams, gels or emulsions with higher viscosity. Such contents will not be drawn into the tube or will not flow out in drops. A pump or jar is more suitable for these products.

Good to know

Before first use, we recommend washing the dropper, rinsing the tube with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving it to dry completely. Do not soak the silicone bulb in solvents for extended periods; simply rinse and dry it.

Draw the contents only into the tube, not into the bulb. Liquid in the bulb is difficult to rinse out, may alter its elasticity and when pressed again will be pushed back into the bottle uncontrollably.

The dropper is for dispensing, not for transport. When sending or travelling, check whether it seals on the specific bottle, or transport the bottle upright. With contents sensitive to air, bear in mind that the bulb pushes a small amount of air into the bottle with each press.

After washing and drying, the dropper can be reused as long as the bulb remains flexible and the tube is undamaged. For contents with a strong scent, it is preferable to have a separate dropper for each product. The packaging is suitable for contact with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.

The glass tube is fragile. Do not store the dropper loosely among other closures, and when tightening it on a bottle, hold it by the collar, not the bulb.

The dropper is composed of three materials – glass, polypropylene and silicone. Before recycling, it is advisable to separate the individual parts.

Frequently asked questions

Which bottles does the dropper with an 18/415 thread fit?
The dropper with an 18/415 thread fits bottles with a neck of the same size, typically small glass bottles for serums and oils. In addition to the thread, the length of the glass tube must also correspond to the height of the bottle, otherwise an inaccessible residue remains at the bottom or the dropper cannot be tightened. Ready-made bottle and dropper combinations are available in the Handymade range.
Is the dropper with a glass tube suitable for essential oils and alcohol tinctures?
Yes, the glass tube is resistant to essential oils, vegetable oils and alcohol bases, and will not absorb the scent of the product. However, draw the contents only into the tube, not into the silicone bulb, which may be affected by prolonged contact with certain solvents. With concentrated blends, we recommend testing the bulb's behaviour first.
How is the dropper cleaned and can it be reused?
The dropper can be reused if it is thoroughly cleaned after each product and left to dry. Wash the glass tube with warm water and dish soap, rinse with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to drain. The bulb only needs to be rinsed and dried; do not soak it for extended periods. For strongly scented contents, it is preferable to have a dedicated dropper for each product.
Does the dropper seal during transport?
The dropper is a dispensing closure, not a transport closure. On a bottle with the corresponding thread it normally seals when upright, but contents may leak when tipped or under pressure changes. When shipping, we recommend testing the seal on the specific bottle and transporting it upright, or using the cap for transport and attaching the dropper separately.
Can a thick product be dispensed with the dropper?
No, the dropper is designed for liquids with lower viscosity – serums, oils, tinctures and concentrates. Thick gels, creams and emulsions will not be drawn into the glass tube or will not flow out in drops. For such products, choose a pump, jar or tube. With serums that have a higher proportion of thickener, we recommend testing the dosing first.
