Product description
Dropper white-silver matte, 56 mm
Dropper with cap for bottles with an 18/410 neck type dispenses contents precisely drop by drop. It is especially suitable for facial serums, face and hair oils, tinctures and concentrates of active ingredients, where a small and repeatable amount matters. It also closes the bottle, so it serves as both a cap and a dispenser in one.
The white and matte silver finish creates a calm impression and pairs well with brown, blue and matte glass bottles. The dropper comes as a complete assembly; no assembly needed.
What the dropper consists of
- Collar with cap – outer aluminium shell with a matte silver surface and a plastic inner part with a thread that screws onto the bottle neck.
- Bulb – the flexible silicone part used to draw up and dispense the contents.
- Glass tube – a thin tube that reaches into the bottle. Glass does not affect the scent or composition of the contents.
What to watch out for when choosing
The length of the glass tube must match the height of the bottle. If it is too short, it will not reach the bottom and the last portion of the contents will be difficult to draw up. If it is too long, it will rest against the bottom and the dropper will not seat properly on the neck. Bottles with the same neck type and ready-made bottle + dropper combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend checking the seal and tube length with the specific bottle.
When filling, leave some headspace in the bottle. Once inserted, the tube displaces some of the volume upwards, and if filled to the brim, the contents would overflow. Fill to the nominal volume of the bottle, not to the neck.
The dropper is suitable for use with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity and related documents are listed with the product.
Working with the dropper
Drop-by-drop dispensing is accurate with thin and medium-viscosity liquids. Thicker oils, such as castor oil, or more viscous serums draw up more slowly and the drop is larger. Take this into account when recommending a dose on the label. Very thick emulsions and gels are not suitable for the dropper.
With essential oils and alcohol-based tinctures, the dropper is usable, but we recommend testing the silicone bulb's behaviour with the specific mixture over a longer period. Concentrated essential oils may over time affect flexible materials; with standard dilutions in a carrier oil this is usually not an issue.
Store and transport the bottle with dropper upright. The dropper is not intended as a transport closure; when laid on its side or under pressure, the contents may leak through the bulb.
Good to know
- Before first filling – wash the dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the tube could spoil an anhydrous oil-based product.
- Repeated use – the dropper can be used multiple times if you clean it thoroughly between refills. When switching to a product with a strong scent, bear in mind that silicone may partially retain the scent.
- Fragility of the tube – the glass tube is thin. When screwing it onto the bottle, guide it straight into the neck and do not press against the bottom.
- Cleanliness of the bulb – the contents should not enter the bulb. Keep the dropper vertical and do not squeeze it when the bottle is upside down.
- Recycling – the dropper combines glass, metal, plastic and silicone; separate the individual parts before recycling.
