Gloss Black Glass Bottle, 15 ml, 156 ks

The glossy black glass 15 ml medicine bottle is supplied on a tray of 156 pcs. Black glass blocks light, so it is mainly used for products that light can damage: facial and oil serums, essential oil blends, fragrance oils, tinctures and concentrated active blends. The 18/410 neck finish is a common size that fits a dropper, a pump or a plain cap. Depending on the closure, the same bottle can be used either for dispensing or simply as a closed bottle.

The packaging is suitable for use with cosmetic products and is also approved for direct contact with food. It is therefore also suitable for homemade herbal infusions, oil samples and concentrated syrups in small packs. The glossy black surface gives products a uniform look regardless of the colour of the contents.

What it is suitable for

• Facial and oil serums – dark glass slows down the light-induced oxidation of oils and active ingredients.
• Essential oil blends – glass does not react with them and does not absorb the scent, so after thorough washing the bottle can be used for a different blend.
• Fragrance oils and alcohol-based perfumes – glass withstands alcohol and oil carriers, and the black finish also hides the colour of the composition, which changes over time.
• Tinctures and infusions – the food-contact certificate allows you to fill the bottle with herbal tinctures intended for internal use as well.
• Samples and testers – a tray of 156 pcs pays off when you need a larger number of small packs, for example for customer sample sets or travel versions of a product.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume, that is the physical capacity up to the neck, is given in the parameters and is higher. The difference provides a reserve for a dropper or pump, which extend into the bottle once fitted, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. For oil serums with a dropper, the reserve also matters so that the contents are not pushed out through the neck when the closure is fitted.

Closure

The bottle is sold without closure. Closures with the same 18/410 neck finish and ready-made combinations of the medicine bottle with a dropper, pump or cap can be found in the Handymade range. If you are creating your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness of the closure, how the pump behaves with the specific viscosity of the contents, and whether the dropper reaches the bottom.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottles with warm water, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely with the neck facing down. Residual moisture in an anhydrous oil serum or in an essential oil blend means a risk of cloudiness and microbial growth.

Do not fill hot contents into the glass directly from the cooking vessel. A sudden change in temperature can crack the wall of the bottle, so let infusions and other hot mixtures cool before filling, at least to a temperature at which the vessel can be held in the hand.

After washing and disinfection, the bottle can be reused.
