A brown plastic bottle with a 300 ml capacity and a disc top cap is packaging for liquid and semi-viscous products dispensed one-handed, particularly in the bathroom or shower. Suitable for shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, conditioners, body lotions and massage oils.

The cap opens by pressing one side of the disc and closes with the same motion. No unscrewing is needed and there are no parts that can be lost. The rose-gold matte shell with a white centre creates a colour contrast with the brown bottle that allows labels to stand out clearly.

Which products is it suitable for

Disc top works best with contents that flow but are not as thin as water:

• Shampoos and shower gels – a typical consistency that dispenses evenly through the opening.
• Liquid soaps and conditioners – one-handed dispensing without setting the cap aside.
• Body lotions and thinner emulsions – provided the emulsion flows down towards the neck inside the bottle.
• Massage and body oils – the cap opening slows the flow of oil so it does not pour out in large amounts at once.

Thick creams and butters are difficult to squeeze out of a bottle and a significant portion remains on the walls; a jar is more suitable for these. Very thin liquids such as tonics or hydrolats are less precisely dispensed through a disc top and are better served by a spray bottle.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended to hold under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference serves as a buffer for the cap and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes.

What to know before filling

Before the first fill, the bottle and cap are washed, sanitised with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowed to dry completely. The cap should be open during sanitising so the solution reaches the dispensing channel as well.

PET is not intended for hot filling; hot contents may deform the bottle. Products prepared at higher temperatures, such as emulsions or surfactant blends heated to dissolve ingredients, should therefore be filled only after they have cooled.

A declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetic products is available for the cap. Compatibility of the bottle with a specific formulation should be verified by your own test. The set is not intended for food use.

Label, alternative closures and recycling

Dimensions needed for label design are listed in the product parameters. The label is applied to a clean, dry and degreased surface; for products used in the shower, a waterproof material is recommended.

Once empty and rinsed, the PET bottle is sorted as plastic waste. The cap combines aluminium and plastic.
