Product description

The amber PET bottle with a capacity of 300 ml and the black and gold plastic pump form a set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by pressing the pump. The bottle and the pump have the same 24/410 neck finish, so the thread fits and the set is ready for filling without trying other closures. The amber colour hides the contents and lets through less light than clear plastic.

The 300 ml volume suits everyday products from which a larger amount is dispensed at a time. The combination of a dark bottle with a black and gold pump is used mainly for body and hair care series that stand in plain view in the bathroom and should have a uniform look.

What the set is suitable for

  • Shower gels and liquid soaps – a dose of approximately 1 ml per press is enough to wash your hands or to create the base of a lather on a sponge.
  • Body lotions and thinner emulsions – contents with a lower viscosity pass through the tube and the pump valve without sticking.
  • Shampoos and conditioners – at 300 ml, one bottle lasts several weeks of normal household use.
  • Make-up remover, massage and shower oils – for products with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking in advance how the plastic behaves in the finished formulation.

Filling and volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling, here 300 ml. The brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the tube and the body of the pump, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for any expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Before the first filling, fit the pump onto the empty bottle and check that the tube rests on the bottom and is not bent. If it is longer than necessary, you can simply trim it with scissors. A bent tube or one that is too short leaves a residue at the bottom that cannot be used up.

Using the pump

After filling and screwing on the pump, press it several times to prime it so that the tube and the valve fill with the contents. After that it dispenses evenly, approximately 1 ml per press, slightly less with thicker emulsions. The pump is designed for contents that flow. Thick creams, butters or products with particles (scrubs, grains, plant pieces) cannot be dispensed through it and clog the valve. The pump combines aluminium with PP and other plastics, so the metallic look is not just a colour.

The amber bottle hides the contents, so you cannot see the level. For products where you need to keep track of consumption, take this into account, or weigh the remainder.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the pump with clean water, pump the water through several times and let it dry with the tube pointing down. Repeat the same procedure for every reuse. When changing the type of product, make sure you flush the pump thoroughly, otherwise residues of the previous contents in the tube will mix with the new ones.

Let hot mixtures cool to room temperature before filling, as PET softens at higher temperatures and the bottle may deform. Do not expose the bottle or the pump to aggressive chemicals.

A declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetic products is documented only for the pump; it is not available for the bottle. The set is not intended for food.

The bottle is made of PET and, once emptied and rinsed, belongs with plastics. The pump combines plastic with aluminium; when sorting, unscrew it and dispose of it separately.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a 300 ml bottle with a pump actually hold?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 300 ml, not to the brim. The remaining space up to the neck is taken up by the body of the pump with the tube and serves as a reserve for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If you fill to the brim, the contents will overflow when the pump is screwed on. The brimful volume is given in the parameters.
Can the 24/410 plastic pump be used for thick creams?
No, the pump is intended for liquid and semi-liquid products. Thick creams, body butters and products with particles, for example scrubs, do not pass through the tube and clog the valve. With thicker emulsions, the dose per press becomes smaller. A jar or container is more suitable for such products.
How do I clean the bottle with a pump, and can it be reused?
Yes, once emptied, the set can be cleaned and filled again. Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry. Rinse the pump with water, pump the water through several times and let it dry with the tube pointing down. When changing the product, flush the pump thoroughly so that no residues of the previous contents remain in the tube.
Is the bottle with a pump suitable for oils and alcohol-based contents?
The set can be used for common vegetable and cosmetic oils. For alcohol-based products and formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking in advance how the bottle and the pump seals behave with your specific recipe. The plastic should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals.
Does the 300 ml bottle with a pump have a documented declaration for cosmetics?
A declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetic products is documented for the plastic pump. No such declaration is available for the amber PET bottle, so the set as a whole is not declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The set is not intended for food, and neither component has a food-contact certificate.
