Product description

A plastic bottle 750 ml with a dropper insert in the neck and a white screw cap is a complete set for thin cosmetic liquids dispensed in small amounts. The dropper slows the flow so the contents do not pour out all at once, but drop by drop or in a thin stream. For large volumes, this makes measuring easier and reduces spills.

The transparent plastic reveals the colour, clarity and remaining volume of the contents. The bottle is lightweight and more resistant to drops than glass, which is practical both in the bathroom and during transport. It is particularly suitable for massage and body oils, bath oils, hydrolats, tonics and hair waters. It also works for liquid raw materials dispensed repeatedly during production.

How the set works

  • Dropper insert in the neck – the flow rate depends on the angle of the bottle and the viscosity of the contents. Thin aqueous and oily liquids dispense smoothly; thick gels and creamy textures pass through with difficulty.
  • Screw cap – closes the bottle above the dropper and protects the neck from dust and leakage between uses.
  • Transparent bottle with a rounded shape – the fill level is visible without opening, and the bottle surface provides space for a label. Dimensions are listed in the specifications.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for during normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. This difference serves as a reserve for the dropper insert, which extends into the neck, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

The bottle is filled without the dropper. The dropper is pressed into the neck only after filling, and the cap is then screwed on. With thicker contents, it is worth testing a small amount first to check whether it flows through the dropper quickly enough.

Good to know

All three parts of the set are suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle individually and the cap individually hold food-contact certification; the dropper does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics, not for food.

Before first use, it is recommended to wash, disinfect and allow the bottle, dropper and cap to dry completely. Residual water in the container can compromise microbiological stability, especially in water-based products. When reusing, pay particular attention to cleaning the dropper and the cap thread, where residue tends to linger the longest.

The transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light, so light-sensitive products should be stored in the dark.

Plastic does not tolerate the same conditions as glass. Contents should only be filled after cooling, as hot liquids can deform the bottle. Undiluted essential oils and strong solvents may degrade the plastic over time, so compatibility with the specific formulation should be verified.

Closures with the same neck type (listed in the specifications) and other ready-made combinations are available from Handymade. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour and container compatibility with the specific formulation. Once no longer in use, both the bottle and closures belong in sorted plastic waste; the material designation of the closures is listed in the specifications.

Frequently asked questions

Which products is the 750 ml plastic bottle with a dropper suitable for?
The 750 ml plastic bottle with a dropper is suitable for thin cosmetic liquids dispensed drop by drop or in a thin stream. These typically include massage and bath oils, hydrolats, tonics, hair waters or liquid raw materials used in production. It is not suitable for thick gels, creams or viscous shampoos, as the dropper lets them through slowly or not at all.
Is the 750 ml plastic bottle with a dropper suitable for food use?
As a set, no — the 750 ml plastic bottle with a dropper is intended for cosmetic products. The bottle individually and the screw cap individually hold food-contact certification, but the dropper does not. The set with the dropper is therefore not intended for food use, for example with syrups or oils. The suitability of all three parts for contact with cosmetics is declared.
Does the transparent plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
No, the transparent plastic bottle lets light through and does not protect the contents from it. Products containing light-sensitive ingredients, such as plant oils prone to oxidation or natural colorants, should be stored in the dark, in a cupboard or a box. Transparency is, on the other hand, an advantage for checking the contents, as their appearance is visible without opening.
To what level should the 750 ml plastic bottle with a dropper be filled?
The plastic bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 750 ml, not to the brim of the neck. The total volume to the brim is slightly larger and provides a reserve for the dropper, which is pressed into the neck, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. An overfilled bottle may overflow when the dropper is inserted.
Can essential oils or alcohol-based solutions be filled into the plastic bottle with a dropper?
The plastic bottle with a dropper is not recommended for undiluted essential oils, as concentrated essential oils and strong solvents may degrade the plastic over time. For alcohol-based solutions and other mixtures with a high solvent content, compatibility with the specific formulation should be verified in advance. A test with a small amount will show whether the bottle, dropper and cap remain unaffected when in contact with the contents.
