Product description
Plastic bottle, white, 24/410, 200 ml
White PET bottle with a capacity of 200 ml and a 24/410 threaded neck, suitable for liquid and semi-liquid products dispensed with a cap, pump, or sprayer. The opaque white wall transmits less light than clear plastic, making it a good choice for contents sensitive to light – emulsions with vegetable oils, vitamin-based formulations, or products with more delicate active ingredients. Supplied without closure.
The volume suits a wide range of rinse-off and leave-on products: shampoos, shower gels, body lotions, facial tonics, micellar waters, hydrosols, and liquid soaps. The bottle is lightweight and shatter-resistant, which is appreciated by customers who take their cosmetics into the bathroom, travel with them, or ship them by post.
Why choose a white PET bottle
- Light protection – the opaque wall reduces light transmission and slows down oxidation of oils and fading of coloured or botanical ingredients. Suitable wherever a clear container is not sufficient.
- Low weight and durability – PET does not crack on impact, is significantly lighter than glass, and reduces shipping costs. Ideal for products used in the shower or at the sink.
- Clean white appearance – the white bottle provides a neutral base for labels. Both colour prints and minimalist labels stand out well, and the contents do not affect the impression the packaging creates.
- Standard 24/410 neck – one of the most common sizes in cosmetics, with a wide selection of compatible closures, pumps, and sprayers.
- Food-grade and cosmetic-grade quality – the container is suitable for direct contact with both food and cosmetic products. A declaration of conformity is available on the product page.
Suitable product types
- Rinse-off cosmetics – shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, facial cleansing foams.
- Body and hair emulsions – lighter body lotions, conditioners, leave-in hair treatments that can be squeezed out or dispensed with a pump. Thicker creams are harder to dispense from a bottle; a jar or pot is a better option for those.
- Water-based formulations – tonics, hydrosols, micellar waters, and refreshing sprays used with a sprayer.
- Oil-based formulations – body and massage oils, bath oils. With a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend testing the container with the specific formulation.
- Home food use – oils, syrups, herbal infusions, dressings. The container is suitable for direct food contact under normal conditions of use.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling conditions, and it is the figure stated in the product name. Total brim-full volume is the physical capacity up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides headspace for the closure, the pump or sprayer dip tube, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – an overfilled bottle seals poorly and the contents are pushed out when the pump is fitted.
If you are using a pump or sprayer with a dip tube, keep in mind that the tube itself takes up part of the volume. Once the closure is fitted, the liquid level will rise – check this when filling the first test bottle.
What to know before filling
Preparation before first use. The bottle is supplied clean but not sterile. Before filling cosmetic products, we recommend rinsing it, sanitising it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leaving it to dry completely with the neck facing down. Residual water inside the container would dilute the product's preservative system.
Filling temperature. PET is not designed for hot filling. Allow emulsions and gels to cool to room temperature before filling; otherwise the bottle wall may deform or become cloudy. Do not leave the bottle – filled or empty – in a car in direct sunlight or near a heat source.
Material compatibility. PET tolerates water-based and oil-based contents, mild acids, and common surfactants. Do not expose it to aggressive chemicals – with cleaning agents, solvents, or undiluted fragrance compounds, test the container several weeks in advance.
Closure. The bottle is compatible with closures matching the neck type stated in the specifications, and ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, verify the seal, dispensing behaviour, and compatibility with the specific formulation.
Label. Standard paper and film self-adhesive labels adhere well to white PET. For products used in the shower, choose film labels – paper labels peel off in humid conditions.
Reuse and recycling. After thorough washing and sanitising, the bottle can be reused, especially with the same type of content. At the end of its life, it should be placed in sorted plastic waste collection as PET.
Concentrated essential oils, solvents, and aggressive chemicals can damage PET. These are not typical cosmetic contents, but if you plan to fill them, test the container in advance and verify the closure seal.
