Product description
A plastic cream dispenser with an 18 mm neck is a pump that dispenses a small, consistent dose of product with each press. It is particularly suitable for face creams, lotions, serums and gel textures applied in small amounts. The contents are not scooped out with fingers, so they remain protected from unnecessary hand contact.
The black finish is neutral and suits both glass and plastic bottles. The dispenser is made from polypropylene (PP) and is suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The declaration can be found in the product parameters.
Which products is the dispenser suitable for
- Face creams and lotions – thinner to medium-thick emulsions that flow down to the bottom of the bottle on their own and are reliably drawn up by the pump.
- Serums and gels – a small dose per press makes it easy to dispense concentrated products with active ingredients precisely and sparingly.
- Eye creams and targeted treatments – products where a very small amount is sufficient for a single application.
- Light body and hair preparations in smaller packaging – such as travel or trial sizes.
The pump is not suitable for very thick butters, balms that solidify at room temperature, or products containing solid particles (scrubs, clay masks). Thick matter will not flow down to the tube, and particles may clog the mechanism.
How to pair the dispenser with a bottle
The dispenser fits bottles with the same neck type. The exact thread designation is listed in the parameters and must match the bottle neck. The diameter alone is not sufficient for a proper seal. Suitable bottles as well as ready-made packaging and dispenser combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend testing the seal, dosing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
The tube is supplied with extra length to allow it to be adjusted to bottles of varying heights. Trim it with clean scissors so that it ends just above the bottom.
Cut the tube at an angle. An angled end will not suction against the bottom of the bottle, allowing the pump to draw out almost all of the contents.
The bottle should be filled to its nominal volume, not to the very top. The total capacity to the brim is always somewhat greater and this headspace should remain free. The pump mechanism and the tube take up some space, and overfilling would cause the contents to leak through the thread when fitting the dispenser.
Good to know
- Preparation before first use – immerse the tube end of the dispenser in ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (IPA), pump several times and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Product viscosity – if the pump draws in air or the piston returns slowly, the formulation is too thick for this type of dispenser. It is worth testing the behaviour on a sample before filling the entire batch.
- Material resistance – the dispenser is intended for standard cosmetic products. With a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, we recommend checking whether the mechanism still dispenses smoothly after several weeks.
The dispenser does not protect the contents from microbial contamination to the extent that it would replace preservation. Products containing water must be preserved in the same way as with any other type of packaging.
