Product description

Plastic jar with a pink lid in a volume of 100 ml is a ready-to-use complete set for filling creams and thicker textures, which does not need to be assembled from individual parts. It consists of a milky polypropylene jar, a pink screw-on lid and an inner liner that covers the surface of the contents. It is particularly suitable for facial and body creams, body butters, balms, scrubs, masks and pomades — products that are scooped with fingers or a spatula and do not require dispensing through a pump.

The milky wall of the jar shows the contents only as a silhouette, not in full colour. The product thus appears understated and the wall conceals minor irregularities that naturally occur after scooping cream. The pink lid allows the product range to be visually distinguished at a glance, even before the label is applied.

What the set consists of

  • Jar – a low, wide container with a straight wall, into which fingers and a spatula can easily reach. The wide neck makes it easy to fill thick substances without a funnel.
  • Lid – a screw-on closure in pink with the same thread type as the jar, so the set does not need to be supplemented with additional parts.
  • Inner liner – a thin transparent disc that is placed directly on the surface of the product after filling. It reduces contact between the contents and the air beneath the lid and prevents cream from getting into the thread during transport.

All three parts are made of polypropylene, so the set behaves predictably both in use and during transport, and after emptying and rinsing it goes into plastic waste as a single type of plastic.

Why polypropylene

Polypropylene (PP) is lightweight and unbreakable, so the jar can withstand a fall on tiles, travelling in a cosmetics bag and daily opening with wet hands. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, i.e. creams, butters, balms and common emulsions. Compared to glass, it is significantly lighter, which translates into lower postage for shipments and less weight in travel packaging.

Nominal and total volume

With the jar you will come across two figures. The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for during normal filling. The total brim volume is the physical volume up to the upper edge of the neck. The difference between them is a reserve in which the inner liner fits and which prevents the contents from being pushed into the thread when closing or when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The exact values of both volumes can be found in the product parameters.

Filling and working with the jar

Before first filling, it is recommended to wash and disinfect the jar, liner and lid with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow them to dry completely. Any moisture left under the liner would otherwise get directly into the product.

Emulsions and creams are filled once cooled to their final consistency. Body butters and balms, which are poured while warm, should be filled when lukewarm, not hot, and left to set in an open jar. Fit the liner and lid only after setting. Closing warm contents causes water to condense under the lid and run back onto the surface of the product.

The jar is a packaging format with open scooping. The product comes into contact with fingers and air with every use, so formulations with a water phase require a reliable preservation system and clean tools when filling. Anhydrous butters and balms are less demanding in this respect.

For products with a higher proportion of essential oils, absolutes or solvents, we recommend testing the jar's behaviour with the specific formulation in advance. Fill one unit, leave it to stand for several weeks and observe whether the wall becomes discoloured, softens or changes shape.

What is good to know

  • Light – the milky wall disperses some light, but does not replace opaque packaging. Store formulations with light-sensitive ingredients away from direct sunlight.
  • Label – the straight side wall of the jar and the flat lid label well. For polypropylene, choose labels with adhesive designed for plastics.
  • Reuse – the set can be washed and used again after emptying. Replace a deformed or scratched liner so that it continues to fit snugly against the surface of the product.
  • Cosmetics and food – the set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is available with the product. This set is not approved for contact with food.

Frequently asked questions

What products is the 100 ml plastic jar with a pink lid suitable for?
It is best suited for creams, body butters, balms, masks and scrubs that are scooped with fingers or a spatula. The wide neck makes it easy to fill thick substances and the inner liner protects the surface of the product until first opening. For liquid serums, tonics or oils, a bottle with a dropper or pump is more suitable, as thin contents are difficult to dispense from a jar.
What is the inner liner in the jar for?
The inner liner is a transparent disc that is placed directly on the surface of the cream after filling. It reduces contact between the contents and the air beneath the lid, prevents the product from being pushed into the thread during transport, and protects the surface of the product until first opening. During use it is removed, and after washing it can be put back in.
Is the 100 ml milky plastic jar suitable for food?
No, this set is not approved for contact with food. The jar, lid and liner are all declared for use with cosmetic products, i.e. creams, butters, balms and similar preparations. For homemade syrups, oils or herbal infusions, choose packaging that has food-contact approval stated in its parameters.
Does the milky jar protect the contents from light?
Partially. The milky wall disperses and dampens light, the contents are visible only as a silhouette, but the jar is not opaque and does not replace dark packaging. For formulations with strongly light-sensitive ingredients, we recommend storing the product away from direct sunlight or opting for opaque packaging.
Can the 100 ml plastic jar be reused and how do you clean it?
Yes, the set can be washed with warm water and washing-up liquid after emptying, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and refilled after drying completely. Rinse off any residue of oils and fragrance components thoroughly so they do not affect the new contents. A deformed or scratched liner is better replaced.
