Is it possible to use this plastic bottle with trigger sprayer repeatedly?

The packaging can be used repeatedly if you follow basic hygiene principles and adapt the cleaning process to the type of product you use in the bottle. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the bottle and the sprayer mechanism and then disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. Only after the inner surfaces are completely dry is the bottle ready to be refilled, which reduces the risk of microbiological contamination and deterioration of the contents.

How to properly clean the plastic bottle and sprayer between individual fillings?

First empty the packaging and rinse it with suitable water (depending on the type of preparation, this may be drinking or demineralized water). We then recommend using a mild cleaning agent that is compatible with the packaging material and the composition of the previous filling. After mechanical cleaning, rinse the bottle and the suction tube of the sprayer thoroughly so that no residues of the cleaning agent remain. Finally, disinfect the packaging with an alcohol solution, for example using IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable, and let it dry completely at room temperature.

What should I watch out for when using plastic packaging made of PET material?

If the bottle is made of PET material, it is important to avoid exposure to high temperatures, for example during boiling, sterilization with hot water, leaving it for a long time in direct sunlight behind a car window or when storing it near heat sources. Excessive thermal load can cause deformation of the packaging and disruption of the functionality of the sprayer. For this reason, PET packaging is not suitable for washing in a dishwasher or for boiling. Gentle hand cleaning at moderate temperatures and disinfection with alcohol as needed is recommended.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle a plastic bottle with sprayer if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend emptying it and basically rinsing it before disposal so that no product residues remain in it. Adapt the method of recycling to the information on the material given in the parameter table of the specific product – according to the material mark, choose the appropriate sorting container (for example plastic). You can separate the mechanical part of the sprayer from the bottle, if possible, and recycle the individual parts according to the type of material. In the case of specific or chemically demanding fillings, also follow the recommendations of the manufacturer of the preparation and the local rules for waste management.
