Product description
Gold glossy push dropper 20/410 – drop-by-drop dispensing for serums and oils
The gold glossy push dropper is a drop-by-drop dispensing closure for bottles and vials with a 20/410 neck type. It is suitable wherever the contents are applied in small, precise amounts: facial serums, facial and hair oils, tinctures, active ingredient concentrates, essential oil blends in carrier oil, or homemade oil elixirs. The glossy gold surface gives the bottle a polished look, making it suitable for products intended for sale or as a gift.
The dropper is a combination of glass and plastic: the liquid is drawn up through a glass tube, dispensing is controlled by a plastic push button at the top, and a gold threaded ring holds the dropper onto the neck. The packaging is suitable for use with cosmetic products and meets the relevant legislative requirements; the declaration of conformity is available with the product.
How a push dropper works
Unlike a classic dropper with a soft rubber bulb, a push dropper has a rigid button that is pressed with the thumb from above. Pressing expels air from the tube; when released, the dropper draws in liquid. Further pressing dispenses the contents – drop by drop or the whole tube at once, depending on how long and how firmly you press the button.
The result is cleaner dispensing. The button is operated with one hand, does not change shape, and the top part of the dropper is easy to wipe clean. This is especially appreciated with serums and oils applied directly from the dropper onto the skin.
Key benefits
- Precise dispensing – the contents are applied drop by drop, which conserves concentrated and more expensive ingredients and makes it easier to apply the recommended amount.
- Glass tube – glass does not react with common cosmetic oils or water-based serums and does not affect their scent; it also cleans easily.
- Rigid button instead of a bulb – easy to operate even with wet or oily hands.
- Gold glossy appearance – a bottle with serum or oil takes on a cohesive look suitable for display on a counter or in gift packaging.
- Standard 20/410 thread – fits glass bottles and vials with this neck type from the Handymade range.
Use and bottle selection
The dropper screws onto a bottle with a 20/410 neck just like a regular cap. The length of the glass tube needs to be matched to the height of the bottle: the tube should reach just above the bottom to draw up the last remaining contents, but must not rest against it. The dropper length is listed in its specifications; the bottle height is listed in the bottle's specifications.
Fill the bottle to its nominal volume, not to the brim. The space in the neck is needed for the glass tube, which, when screwed in, pushes some of the contents upward – if overfilled, the contents would spill through the thread when closing.
The closure is intended for liquid and mildly viscous contents: serums, oils, tinctures, tonics with active ingredients. Thick gels or creams cannot be drawn up by a dropper; a pump or jar is more suitable for these. Bottles with a 20/410 neck and ready-made bottle + dropper sets are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend testing the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.
Good to know
Before first use, wash and disinfect the dropper – rinse the tube with alcohol (isopropyl alcohol or ethanol), allow to dry completely, then fill. Follow the same procedure when reusing, and always check that the glass tube is not chipped.
With serums containing a high proportion of essential oils, with alcohol-based tinctures, or with solvent-containing contents, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the plastic parts in a longer test. Glass is resistant, but the plastic button and threaded ring may be affected over time by certain concentrated ingredients. With common facial oils and water-based serums, such an effect is not expected.
When shipping products to customers or travelling, transport the bottle upright and pack it so that the button cannot be pressed and the dropper cannot come loose. Check that the thread is tightened before transport.
When disposing, separate the glass tube from the plastic parts and sort them by material.
