Product description

Silver glossy push dropper, 18/410

Push dropper dispenses the contents by pressing the button on top of the cap instead of the classic rubber bulb. This allows more precise control over the number of drops, and the cap looks consistent with the bottle. It is designed for bottles with an 18/410 neck. The glossy silver finish works well with brown, black and clear glass bottles and gives them the appearance of a metal cap without the weight of metal.

The dropper is particularly suitable for facial serums, oil blends, tinctures and concentrated preparations that are applied drop by drop. The packaging material is suitable for contact with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.

How the dropper works

  • Button instead of a bulb – the top part of the cap serves as a button. Pressing it releases the contents of the glass tube drop by drop; when released, the tube draws back again.
  • Glass tube – the part in permanent contact with the contents is made of glass. Glass does not react with oils or common cosmetic ingredients and leaves no odour in the contents.
  • ABS plastic body – the collar with the thread and the button are made of solid plastic with a glossy silver finish. They hold their shape and the thread does not strip under normal use.
  • 18/410 thread – the dropper fits all bottles with the same neck regardless of their volume. The decisive factor is the length of the glass tube relative to the height of the bottle; you will find it in the specifications.

What the dropper is suitable for

The dropper makes sense wherever dispensing is done drop by drop and where it is important to keep water and fingers out of the container: oil serums, blends of carrier oils with essential oils, tinctures and alcoholic extracts, oil concentrates for hair and beard, treatment oils for nails and the nail bed. Water-based serums with low viscosity also dispense well. With thicker gel serums the tube fills more slowly and the drops are larger.

When choosing a bottle, compare the length of the glass tube with the height of the bottle. The tube should reach just above the bottom so that you can dispense the last of the contents, but it should not rest against it.

Good to know

  • Fill to the nominal volume – the glass tube takes up space inside the bottle. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will overflow through the neck when the cap is screwed on.
  • Preparation before first use – simply rinse the glass tube with clean alcohol (ethanol or isopropyl alcohol) and leave to dry completely. The button and plastic parts are not immersed.
  • Reuse – the dropper can be used again after washing, provided the tube is not damaged. Alcohol removes oil residue from the tube; warm water removes water-based residue.
  • Sensitivity of plastic parts – ABS tolerates standard cosmetic formulations. For contents with a high proportion of pure essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking the behaviour of the collar and seal in the specific formulation, as such ingredients may degrade the plastic over time.
  • Care for the glossy finish – the silver surface is cleaned with a soft cloth, not with abrasive products or alcohol.
  • Recycling – before disposal, separate the glass tube from the plastic part and sort each component separately.

Before sending full bottles to customers, verify the seal of the bottle and dropper combination with the specific formulation. During transport, we recommend additionally securing the bottles.

Ready-made bottle and dropper combinations and other caps with an 18/410 neck are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

What bottles does the push dropper 18/410 fit?
The push dropper 18/410 fits any bottle with an 18/410 neck regardless of volume or glass colour. The decisive factor when choosing is the length of the glass tube relative to the height of the bottle, so the tube reaches almost to the bottom. Bottles for serums and oils dispensed drop by drop are particularly suitable.
What is the difference between a push dropper and a dropper with a rubber bulb?
A push dropper is dispensed by pressing the button on top of the cap; a bulb dropper by squeezing the rubber part. The button allows more even drops and looks consistent with the bottle; the bulb is softer and draws up a larger quantity at once. Both have a glass tube, so the contents come into contact with the same material.
Is the push dropper suitable for oil serums with essential oils?
Yes, the glass tube of the push dropper is suitable for oil serums and standard use of essential oils in a carrier oil does not pose a problem. For blends with a high proportion of pure essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking that the plastic parts of the collar and the seal do not soften over time in the specific formulation.
Can the push dropper be washed and reused?
Yes, the push dropper can be reused after washing. Rinse the glass tube with alcohol or warm water and leave to dry completely; the plastic parts are simply wiped with a damp cloth. If the tube is cracked or the button stops drawing, replace the dropper.
Why is a bottle with a dropper not filled to the brim?
A bottle with a dropper is filled to the nominal volume, because the glass tube takes up space inside the bottle. The nominal volume allows for the tube and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If filled to the brim, the contents will overflow through the neck when the cap is screwed on and the dropper will then not seal properly.
How does the push dropper dispense thicker serums?
The push dropper also dispenses thicker serums, but the tube fills more slowly and the drops are larger. With gel or viscous preparations, we recommend testing dispensing on a sample and adjusting the viscosity of the formulation if needed, so that drawing up and releasing drops remains smooth.
