Product description

Silver glossy push dropper 20/410 – precise dosing for serums and oils

Push dropper is a closure with a press button for bottles with a neck type 20/410. It replaces a regular cap and turns the bottle into a dispensing container: pressing the button draws the contents into the glass tube and then releases them drop by drop exactly where needed. The glossy silver finish looks neutral and suits both clear and coloured glass.

It is particularly suitable for facial serums, facial and body oils, blends of essential oils in carrier oil, tinctures and concentrated active ingredients. For these products, a small amount is dispensed and it matters that the contents are not spilled or contaminated by fingers. The packaging is suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

Key features

  • Glass tube – glass does not react with oils, essential oils or alcoholic solutions, does not absorb scent and does not stain. The dropper is therefore suitable for concentrated and aromatic contents.
  • Button dispensing – the contents are drawn up and released by pressing the top button. You can measure a small amount drop by drop without spilling and without hand contact with the contents.
  • Hygienic use – unused remainder returns to the bottle, reducing the risk of contamination of leave-on products with active ingredients.
  • Uniform appearance – the silver glossy surface combines with brown, blue, frosted and clear glass.

Which bottles the dropper fits

The dropper fits bottles with neck type 20/410. This information can be found in the parameters of each bottle. The second decisive dimension is the dropper length, which is directly in the product name. The tube should reach close to the bottom of the bottle so that the last remaining contents can be drawn up, but should not rest against the bottom. With a significantly taller bottle, an inaccessible remainder will be left at the bottom; with a shorter one, the dropper cannot be tightened properly.

Bottles with the same neck type and ready-made bottle + dropper combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation before filling a larger batch.

When filling, account for the volume taken up by the dropper tube itself. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise, when the dropper is inserted, the contents will overflow through the neck.

Suitable for products such as

  • Facial serums on a water and oil base, where a few drops are dispensed per application.
  • Facial and body oils and beard oils including blends with essential oils, where you will appreciate glass with no residual scent.
  • Tinctures and alcoholic extracts, where the glass tube withstands alcohol without any change in appearance.
  • Concentrates of active ingredients, such as solutions to be added to a cream or mask, where the exact number of drops matters.

The dropper is less suitable for thick creams, high-viscosity gels and products with insoluble particles. These are drawn up through the tube with difficulty or clog it. For such textures, a jar or pot is more appropriate.

What to know when working with the dropper

Before first filling, we recommend disassembling the dropper into accessible parts, washing it, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. Moisture in the tube would get into the anhydrous oil or serum and could affect its stability.

The glass tube is fragile. When tightening the dropper, do not press the tube against the bottom of the bottle, and inspect it after dropping it on a hard surface. A cracked tube must not be used further.

For products with a high content of essential oils, solvents or with a low or high pH, we recommend verifying how the seal and button behave before batch filling. Glass itself tolerates these substances; the behaviour of the other parts depends on the specific formulation.

The dropper can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection, ideally for the same type of product. When disposing, the glass tube is sorted as glass and the other parts by material. As this is a composite packaging, it is appropriate to separate the parts before disposal.

For water-based serums and tonics, dosing must not replace preservation. The dropper reduces finger contact, but the product comes into contact with air with each use. It must therefore be properly preserved in the same way as with a regular closure.

Frequently asked questions

Which bottles does the 20/410 push dropper fit?
The 20/410 push dropper fits bottles that have neck type 20/410 stated in their parameters and a height corresponding to the dropper length. The number 20 designates the neck diameter, 410 the thread shape, and both values must match. Matching bottles and ready-made sets are available in the Handymade range.
Is the glass dropper suitable for essential oils?
Yes, the glass tube of the dropper is suitable for essential oils and their blends in carrier oil. Glass does not react with them, does not absorb scent and does not stain. For highly concentrated blends, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the seal and button, which are not made of glass, on one test bottle before filling larger quantities.
How is a push dropper used?
The push dropper is used by pressing the button at the top. When pressed with the tube inserted, air is expelled; upon release, the contents are drawn into the tube and released drop by drop with gentle repeated pressing. After use, the dropper is screwed back onto the bottle to prevent the contents from flowing or evaporating.
Can the dropper be used for a thick serum or gel?
The dropper is only partially suitable for thick serums and gels. The tube draws up liquid and slightly viscous products well, such as oils and light serums. A thick gel is drawn up slowly or not at all and is difficult to release drop by drop. For such textures, a jar or pot is more appropriate.
How is the dropper cleaned before first use and for repeated filling?
Before first use and for repeated filling, the dropper is washed, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowed to dry completely. No water must remain in the tube, as it would be transferred into a water-free product. Repeated use is most suitable for the same type of contents, to avoid mixing residual scents.
Why must the bottle with a dropper not be filled to the brim?
A bottle with a dropper is filled only to the nominal volume, because the glass tube, when inserted, takes up part of the internal space and pushes the level upward. When filled to the brim, the contents overflow through the neck and soil the thread, which impairs the seal. The reserve between the nominal and total volume is intended for the tube and for expansion of the contents with changes in temperature.
