Product description
Plastic cap 24/410 in matte silver is a simple screw closure made of polypropylene for bottles and small bottles with a 24/410 neck. It suits cosmetic products that are not dispensed by pump or spray, but poured or taken directly from the container – facial oils, toners, hydrolates, liquid soaps for refilling, cleansing waters or concentrates for dilution. The matte silver surface looks understated and pairs well with amber, blue and clear glass as well as white and clear plastic bottles, so a single cap can serve an entire product range.
Inside, it has a foam polyethylene (EPE) sealing liner. When tightened, it presses against the rim of the neck and seals the container, which is particularly important for liquid and thin contents that might leak through the thread alone. The container is intended for use with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity can be found with the product.
What the cap is suitable for
- Closure without dispensing – the product is poured or taken from the neck, so the cap is suitable where a pump or dropper is not needed or would unnecessarily increase the cost of the packaging.
- Transport and storage closure – a bottle with a pump or spray is often closed with a plain cap during transport, with the dispenser packed separately. The customer swaps it at home.
- Semi-finished goods and production stocks – for sealing macerates, finished phases, samples or custom blends that are later transferred into final packaging.
- Consistent range appearance – the same cap on both glass and plastic bottles with a 24/410 neck simplifies closure purchasing and unifies the look of the products.
Good to know
The cap is supplied separately, without a bottle. It fits all containers with a 24/410 neck; the thread type is listed in the parameters for each bottle. Ready-made bottle + cap combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying tightness with the specific formulation, as different bottles have slightly different neck rim shapes.
Test tightness simply: place the filled and tightened bottle on its side on absorbent paper and leave it for several hours. If the paper remains dry, the liner is sealing correctly. Tighten the cap by hand, without tools – overtightening can damage the thread or deform the liner.
For contents with a high proportion of essential oils, concentrated fragrance compositions or solvents, we recommend checking whether the liner or cap changes after prolonged contact (softening, odour, loss of tightness). Fill the bottle to its nominal volume, not to the brim – the difference between the nominal and total volume creates an air gap under the cap, so the liquid is not in constant contact with the liner.
Before first use, wash the cap, disinfect it with isopropanol or ethanol and allow it to dry completely. Moisture trapped under the liner could introduce contamination into the product. The cap can be reused if the liner is intact and free of odour from previous contents. For products intended for sale, it is preferable to use a new closure.
The cap is made of plastic and belongs in the sorted plastic waste collection.
