Product description
The white dropper with a tamper-evident ring, 71 mm is a dispensing closure for bottles with an 18/415 neck. It lets you draw out liquid contents drop by drop, which makes it particularly suitable for serums, facial and hair oils, and tinctures, that is, for concentrated preparations where the exact amount per use matters.
The tamper-evident ring is a simple proof of first opening. On the first unscrewing it separates from the closure and stays on the bottle neck, so the customer immediately sees that no one opened the product before them. For small cosmetic brands and the sale of finished products, it is a simple way to add credibility to the packaging without any additional film or seal.
What the dropper is made of
- Polypropylene (PP) closure – it screws onto the 18/415 neck and holds the entire dropper. It includes the tamper-evident ring, which tears off at the first opening.
- Silicone bulb – squeezing it forces out the air, and when released it draws the contents into the tube. The silicone is soft and returns to its shape even after many squeezes.
- Glass tube – the part in constant contact with the contents. Glass does not react with oils or alcohol-based extracts and leaves no odour in the product.
How to work with the dropper
Squeeze the bulb before immersing the tube in the contents. On release, the tube fills and the drops are dispensed by gently squeezing again. The amount in a single drop depends on the density and surface tension of the contents, so an oil and a water-based serum will deliver a different volume.
The tube should reach just above the bottom of the bottle. If it is shorter, the last part of the contents cannot be drawn out. If it is longer, the closure cannot be tightened or the tube rests against the bottom. The 71 mm length in the name should be compared with the height of the bottle body, which you will find in the packaging specifications.
Before ordering a larger quantity, try the dropper on one bottle from your batch. This will verify the tube length, the tightening of the closure, and whether the tamper-evident ring separates correctly on that particular neck at the first opening.
Suitable for products such as
- Facial serums and concentrates – both water-based and oil-based, with a dose of a few drops per use.
- Facial, hair and beard oils – the dropper lets you apply the oil directly onto the palm without overflow.
- Tinctures, alcohol-based extracts and essential oil blends – the glass tube withstands both alcohol-based and oil-based contents.
- Samples and test batches – small volumes with precise dosing during formulation development.
The dropper is not suitable for thick gels, creams or emulsions with higher viscosity. Such contents will not be drawn into the tube or will be dispensed unevenly. For thick preparations, a pump or a jar is more appropriate.
Good to know
Before the first filling, it is recommended to disassemble the dropper, rinse the tube and closure, disinfect them with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let them dry completely. The bulb only needs to be wiped with disinfectant on the outside and inside the opening. Prolonged soaking in solvent is not good for it.
Contents with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents are in constant contact only with the glass tube. The bulb meets the contents only when they are drawn above the tube during a sharp squeeze. For such formulations, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the bulb and the tightness of the closure over time, ideally on a bottle stored for several weeks, including on its side.
When shipping filled bottles, check that the contents do not seep around the bulb when laid down, and transport the bottles upright.
Reuse is possible after washing and disinfection. The tamper-evident ring, however, fulfils its role only once; a refilled bottle no longer has proof of first opening.
The label is applied to the body of the bottle, not to the closure. The white dropper looks neutral on clear, amber and blue glass, so the label can be either colourful or minimalist.
The packaging material is suitable for use with cosmetic products and meets the relevant legislative requirements. A declaration of conformity is available with the product. For recycling, the glass tube is separated from the plastic closure with the bulb and the parts are sorted by material.
