Product description

A plastic tablet jar with a white lid, 150 ml, is a closeable set for storing and selling loose and solid products – tablets, capsules, bath bombs, bath salts, powders, dusting powders or loose raw materials. The jar is made of white PET, is lightweight, break-resistant and under a label looks clean and neutral. The screw lid is made of polypropylene with a foam sealing insert that, when tightened, closes the neck and limits moisture access to the contents.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics and is also approved for direct food contact, for both components – the jar and the lid. It is therefore suitable not only for cosmetic production, but also for food supplements, herbal tablets, spices, dried herbs or homemade loose mixtures. The packaging originates from European production.

What the set is suitable for

  • Tablets and capsules – the wide neck allows convenient filling and dispensing; contents do not get stuck as with narrow bottles.
  • Bath bombs and bath salts – the sealing insert in the lid limits access of ambient moisture, which is essential with effervescent mixtures.
  • Powders and dusting powders – the depth of the jar and wide neck make it easier to scoop with a spoon or measuring cup; with very fine powders, note that dust clings to the walls.
  • Loose raw materials and foods – thanks to the food-grade attestation, the set is also suitable for teas, spices, seeds or powdered supplements.

Nominal and total volume

The figure 150 ml is the nominal volume, i.e. the volume for which the jar is designed during normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference is made up by the allowance for the lid with sealing insert and for the headspace above the contents, which for tablets and loose products makes it easier to dispense and prevents spillage when opening. Fill the jar to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Exact figures are given in the parameters.

Closure and sealing

The lid belongs to the jar and is supplied with it as a set, so you do not need to source the combination separately. The neck has a GL44 thread; if you wish to combine the jar with a different lid in the future, choose from lids with the same neck type and from ready-made combinations available from Handymade. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and behaviour of the packaging with the specific contents.

The foam sealing insert in the lid works best when the lid is tightened evenly and the neck is clean. Residues of powder or salt on the thread impair the seal – wipe the neck before closing.

Good to know

Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing both the jar and lid before use, or sanitising with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. For loose and effervescent products, a dry container is more important than for creams – residual moisture triggers the reaction of effervescent mixtures and causes clumping of salts and powders.

Material sensitivity. PET is resistant to common loose and aqueous contents, but is not intended for hot filling – allow contents to cool before filling. For contents with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking compatibility in advance on a single unit.

Do not expose the jar or lid to aggressive chemicals. Concentrated essential oils, acetone or strong solvents can cause long-term damage to the plastic.

Labelling. The white wall is a suitable background for a label; colours do not lose vibrancy on it as they do on a clear container.

Reuse. Both the jar and the lid can be reused after washing and drying. The sealing insert in the lid is firmly seated; do not remove it during cleaning.

In addition to cosmetic and food-grade quality, the set also meets technical quality standards, making it useful for small workshop or household materials – beads, screws, seeds for sowing.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 150 ml plastic tablet jar suitable for food?
Yes, the set consisting of the jar and white lid is approved for direct food contact, for both components. You can use it for food supplements, herbal tablets, spices, teas or homemade loose mixtures. The declaration of conformity is available with the product. This applies to dry and standard contents, not for hot filling.
How many tablets fit in the 150 ml jar?
The exact number depends on the size and shape of the tablets and cannot be stated in general. As a guideline, fill the jar to the nominal volume and leave headspace above the contents so that tablets do not spill out when opened and can be dispensed comfortably. The most reliable approach is to fill one unit and count the tablets.
Can the tablet jar be used for bath bombs?
Yes, the set is suitable for bath bombs because the lid with a foam sealing insert limits moisture access. It is important to fill only a completely dry container and allow the tablets to dry thoroughly before packaging. For tablets with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking whether the oil leaves marks on the PET wall.
How to clean the jar and lid before reuse?
Wash both the jar and lid with warm water and washing-up liquid, rinse, optionally sanitise with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and leave to dry completely. Do not use boiling water or a dishwasher with high temperature as PET may deform. Do not remove the sealing insert from the lid; it is sufficient to wipe it and leave it to dry.
Is the white jar also suitable for creams or ointments?
The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics, so it can be used for creams or ointments. However, the shape and neck of the jar are designed for tablets and loose products, not for scooping cream with a finger. For creams, we recommend jars with a wider flat neck, which are designed for this purpose.
