Product description
A brown plastic tablet jar with a black cap and induction liner is a complete packaging solution for tablets, capsules, powders and other dry contents where protection from light and moisture matters. The brown colouring of the jar reduces light penetration to the contents. The cap with an induction liner enables hermetic sealing and at the same time gives the customer assurance that the packaging was not opened before first use. The set with a nominal volume of 100 ml is approved for direct contact with food and for use with cosmetic products. It is therefore equally suited to dietary supplements, powder masks, bath salts and loose powders.
Why choose this set
- Light protection – the brown wall of the jar limits light penetration, helping maintain the stability of light-sensitive contents such as plant extracts in tablets, dried herbs or coloured powders.
- Induction liner in the cap – once sealed, it forms a tight film across the jar neck, protecting the contents from moisture and air and serving as a visible tamper-evident seal.
- Lightweight and shatter-resistant material – the PET jar will not break if dropped, is lightweight for transport and withstands everyday handling in retail and at home.
- Wide neck – tablets, capsules and powders can be filled easily with a spoon or funnel and are equally easy to remove from the jar.
- Food-grade and cosmetic quality – both the jar and the cap have their own declaration of conformity, so the complete set is suitable for dietary supplements and cosmetics alike.
How the set works
The jar and cap share the same neck thread, so the cap screws on easily and seals even without sealing. The full effect of the induction liner is only achieved after induction sealing. After the cap is screwed on, the jar is briefly placed in an induction sealer, which heats the aluminium layer of the liner and welds it to the jar neck rim. The cap can then be unscrewed, but the contents remain under the sealed film until the customer removes it themselves.
Induction sealing requires an induction sealer, which is also available in a tabletop version for small-scale production. Without it, the liner acts only as a standard cap gasket, the jar is not hermetically sealed and the tamper-evident seal is missing.
After the sealed film is removed, the jar is closed with the cap alone. The seal at this stage is standard, not hermetic, so the set is best suited to contents that will be used up within weeks to months and are not harmed by occasional air exposure.
Suitable for products such as
- Dietary supplements – tablets, capsules, lozenges; the set is approved for direct contact with food, so no additional inner packaging is required.
- Powder cosmetic products – powder face masks, clay masks for mixing, loose powders and dry shampoos.
- Bath salts and loose blends – plain salt, salt with herbs or dried flowers, mini bath bombs.
- Dried herbs and spices – loose-leaf teas, herbal blends, spices and seeds, whose colour and aroma the brown jar helps preserve.
- Small solid products – waxes, solid perfumes in tablet form, dishwasher tablets or solid household cleaning tablets.
For liquid and oil-based contents, a bottle with a narrower neck and a matching closure is more suitable. The wide neck of the jar is designed for dispensing dry contents, not for dosing liquids.
Nominal and total volume
Packaging distinguishes between two figures. Nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed under normal filling conditions, and total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them provides headspace for the closure, liner and expansion of the contents. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. For dry contents, filling in practice is guided by weight or piece count rather than volume. What is important, however, is to leave free space below the neck so that the induction liner contacts only the rim of the neck during sealing, not the contents.
Good to know
Before first use, we recommend washing and disinfecting both the jar and the cap with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. Any moisture remaining in the jar would cause powders and tablets to clump.
PET is resistant to water, salts and most cosmetic powders, but not to concentrated essential oils and organic solvents. We recommend testing loose blends with a higher proportion of fragrance oils in this jar first and not exposing the jar to aggressive chemicals.
The jar can be reused after washing and drying, but the induction liner is single-use. For new hermetic packaging, a new cap with an intact liner is required.
A wrap-around or front label can be applied to the jar. For food use, the label must include data in accordance with dietary supplement regulations; for cosmetics, data in accordance with cosmetics legislation.
Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made jar and cap combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and the behaviour of the packaging with the specific contents. The jar is made of PET and the cap of PP; both materials belong in plastic waste collection. The aluminium liner is removed together with the foil when opened.
