Product description
The brown plastic tablet jar with white cap, 100 ml, is a lightweight, impact-resistant container for solid and loose contents that should not be exposed to light. The brown colour of the plastic reduces light transmission to the contents, which is valuable for herbal tablets, capsules, dried herbs, and powdered blends with botanical ingredients. The wide neck makes pouring and picking out individual pieces easy; the white cap screws on and seals the container firmly. The set is approved for direct contact with food and for use with cosmetic products. It is therefore suitable for home production, small series, and retail.
What the set is suitable for
- Tablets and capsules – nutritional tablets, botanical capsules, pressed lozenges. The brown plastic protects botanical ingredients from light, and the wide neck enables convenient dispensing.
- Loose cosmetic blends – clay powder masks, enzymatic powders, bath salt in small packaging, or smaller bath fizz balls.
- Dried herbs and spices – thanks to the food-contact certification, the container is also suitable for tea blends, spices, dried flowers for infusions, or homemade herbal salts.
- Solid cosmetic products – bath tablets, solid shampoo bars, wax cubes, and similar products that need protection from dust and moisture.
- Samples and workshop organisation – measured doses of raw materials, powder pigments, and mica.
For creams and emulsions that are scooped out with fingers, a lower and wider pot is more suitable. This jar is taller and narrower, designed for pouring and picking out pieces, not for scooping.
How the set works
The jar is made of PET, which is lightweight and impact-resistant, so it easily withstands drops and transport. The brown tint blocks a significant portion of light. The white polypropylene cap has a sealing insert on the inside that, when tightened, presses against the neck and restricts the entry of air and moisture. The cap opens and closes by screwing.
Nominal volume is the volume for which the container is intended under normal filling. Total brim capacity is the physical volume up to the neck. Loose and solid contents should be filled so that the contents do not reach the thread and the cap can be tightened without resistance. With liquids, allow for movement of the contents and never fill to the brim.
With loose blends, leave some free space in the jar. The contents flow out more easily when pouring, do not get stuck in the neck, and the cap will not tighten onto dust that could reduce the seal.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – we recommend washing the jar and cap, sanitising with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing to dry completely. Residual moisture causes clumping and spoilage of tablets and powders.
- Moisture is the main enemy of loose contents – effervescent tablets, powder masks, and salts absorb atmospheric moisture. Fill in a dry environment and tighten the cap immediately after filling. For highly sensitive blends, a desiccant sachet will help.
- PET and aggressive substances – concentrated essential oils and solvents that act directly on the container wall for extended periods may damage the plastic. For products with a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend verifying the container's behaviour on a sample.
- Heat – PET deforms at higher temperatures. Do not fill the jar with hot substances and do not leave it near a heat source or in direct sunlight in a car.
- Labelling – the straight cylindrical wall provides ample space for a label with name, composition, and dosage. Exact dimensions can be found in the specifications.
- Reuse – the jar and cap can be washed and used again. Check the sealing insert in the cap to make sure it is not damaged or saturated with the scent of the previous contents.
- Recycling – the jar goes into plastic recycling as PET, the cap as PP. We recommend separating them before disposal.
The cap is a standard screw closure, not a child-resistant closure. If you are packaging tablets or capsules that should be kept out of reach of children, ensure they are stored in an inaccessible place and state this on the label.
Closures with the same neck type as listed in the specifications, and other ready-made combinations, are available in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and the container's behaviour with the specific formulation.
