Product description
The complete set of a black HDPE bottle 500 ml with a lever foam pump dispenser transforms a dilute surfactant solution into thick, stable foam that you dispense by pressing the lever directly onto your hand, sponge, or surface. The foam forms without propellant gas and without thickeners. The set is suitable for cosmetic as well as technical use, making it ideal for foam wash products for the body and hands as well as foam household cleaning agents.
The large volume and comfortable lever make the set a practical packaging for a workshop, bathroom, salon, or cleaning applications where the product is used frequently and in larger quantities. The opaque black bottle also protects the contents from light, which is appreciated in formulations containing essential oils, plant extracts, or dyes.
How the foamer works
- Foam without gas – when the lever is pressed, the liquid in the dispenser mixes with air and is forced through a fine mesh. The result is a fine foam whose density depends on the composition of the fill, not the packaging.
- Comfortable dosing – the lever is operated with the whole hand, making it easy to use even with wet or greasy fingers. One press releases approximately 1.3 ml of fill, which corresponds to one dose of foam for hand washing or treating a small area.
- Durable bottle – HDPE is lightweight, shatterproof, and resistant to common surfactants, salts, and mildly alkaline or acidic solutions. It can withstand repeated filling.
- Black finish – both the bottle and the dispenser are the same colour, giving the set a unified appearance that works well with labels in a dark or contrasting style.
Suitable for products such as
- Foam hand and body soap – a dilute solution of mild surfactants, such as Coco-Glucoside, Decyl Glucoside, or Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, is transformed in the foamer into a thick foam that spreads easily and rinses off well.
- Foam facial cleanser and makeup remover – the foam is applied directly to the face without running, which saves product compared to a liquid gel.
- Foam shampoo for children and pets – the low viscosity of the fill suits the foamer, and the foam distributes well through hair or fur.
- Foam household cleaning products – bathroom cleaner, kitchen surfaces, glass, or upholstery cleaner. Foam clings to vertical surfaces longer than a liquid spray and can be directed precisely.
- Shoe, car seat, and fabric cleaner – the foam penetrates the material without soaking it; the residue is wiped off with a cloth.
What to keep in mind when filling
The foamer requires a fill with viscosity close to that of water. Thickened gels, emulsions, oils, and products with solid particles will clog the mesh, or only a thin stream of liquid will come out instead of foam. When developing a foam product, work with a low concentration of surfactants and without thickeners. Adjust the quality of the foam by balancing the ratio of surfactants and, if necessary, adding foam-stabilising agents, not by increasing viscosity.
Before filling the whole bottle, test a new formula in a small quantity. If the foam is thin and breaks down quickly, increase the proportion of surfactants or add a co-surfactant. If the dispenser struggles to foam, the fill is too thick and needs to be diluted with water.
Before first use, rinse the bottle and dispenser with clean water, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. If the dip tube is longer than the bottle, trim it with sharp scissors so that it reaches just above the bottom without bending. After screwing on the dispenser, press the lever several times with no fill until the system primes and foam begins to emerge.
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the volume for which the packaging is designed under normal filling conditions. The total volume up to the neck is greater, and the difference forms a reserve for the dispenser body, the dip tube, and the air that the foamer needs to draw in with each press. An overfilled bottle produces weaker foam and some of the contents will be pushed out when screwing on the cap.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. For highly alcoholic fills, concentrated essential oils, or organic solvents, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the plastic with the finished formulation, as prolonged contact may affect the seal of the dispenser or the quality of the foam.
The set is not intended for contact with food. Do not use it for filling edible oils, syrups, or beverages.
The surface of the bottle is suitable for applying a label. The bottle is made from HDPE and the dispenser from polypropylene; they should therefore be separated as two different plastics when recycling.
Caps with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle-and-cap combinations are available in the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosage, and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
