What products is the set suitable for

It works best with liquid to medium-viscosity formulations that can be squeezed through the cap opening: shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, liquid hand soaps, body lotions, light creams, massage and body oils, cleansing oils, and liquid household cleaners. Thick creams and butters are difficult to dispense through a flip-top; a jar or pot is more suitable for them. Very thin, watery products such as tonics and hydrolats can be contained in the set, but a spray bottle is more practical for these.

A volume of 500 ml corresponds to a family-size shower pack or a pack for salons and massage therapists, where the product is consumed quickly.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is larger. The difference provides a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes; it also allows the bottle to be squeezed without the product spilling immediately after opening. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is stated in the product parameters.

What is worth knowing

Preparation before first filling. We recommend washing both the bottle and cap, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allowing to dry completely. Moisture in the bottle may dilute the product and reduce the effectiveness of preservation.

Reuse. Both HDPE and PP withstand repeated washing; however, clean and disinfect the packaging again with each new filling. The flip-top cap hinge wears over time with frequent opening, so check its condition regularly.

Opaque wall. The black bottle does not show how much product remains. On the other hand, it conceals sediment, phase separation or discolouration, so the appearance of the product does not disturb the customer.

Material sensitivity. HDPE tolerates water, surfactants, oils and common cosmetic ingredients well. For products with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the plastic in the finished formulation, especially during prolonged storage.

Leak-tightness during shipping. The flip-top closure is designed for everyday use in the home and salon. When shipping thin products, check whether the contents leak through the cap opening when the bottle is laid on its side, and secure the bottle for transport.

Labelling. The cylindrical bottle shape allows labels to be applied around the circumference. Light and high-contrast labels stand out well on the matte black plastic.
