Product description

The 10 ml glass bottle with dropper is used for storing and dispensing small volumes of liquid preparations that are added or applied drop by drop: facial serums, face oils, essential oil blends, alcohol tinctures or concentrated active ingredients. The set consists of a clear medicine bottle with a thick base and a black and gold dropper, matched to this bottle in size and neck type. Clear glass shows the colour and clarity of the contents, so it suits situations where the product should be visible: samples, recipe testing or preparations that are used up within a short time. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Neither the bottle nor the dropper has food-contact certification, so the set is intended for cosmetics.

How to use the set

The dropper screws directly onto the neck of the bottle and closes it at the same time. Squeezing the silicone bulb draws the contents into the glass tube, and they are then dispensed drop by drop without your fingers coming into contact with the preparation. With serums and face oils, this means more precise dispensing and a lower risk of introducing impurities into the contents. The thick base gives the low bottle stability on the work surface, even when it is almost empty.

Nominal volume and brimful volume

The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper tube, which displaces part of the volume once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

When filling, leave free space below the neck. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the contents overflow when the dropper is fitted and contaminate the thread, which then makes the closure seal less well.

Suitable for products such as

  • Facial serums – both water-based and oil-based, where a few drops are dispensed per use.
  • Face oils and oil blends – the dropper dispenses a precise amount without your fingers touching the contents.
  • Essential oil blends and fragrance blends – for testing ratios or small batches for your own use.
  • Tinctures and alcohol extracts – glass is resistant to alcohol and does not change the scent of the contents.
  • Samples and trial recipes – the small volume and visible contents make it easier to compare several variants.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect the inside with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Treat the glass tube of the dropper in the same way; it is enough to wipe the bulb on the outside. Residual water in the packaging needlessly dilutes the contents and, with water-based preparations, increases the demands on preservation.

Clear glass does not protect against light. We recommend storing preparations with light-sensitive ingredients, for example retinol, vitamin C or unrefined oils, in a box or in the dark, or choosing amber glass instead.

Glass tolerates normal temperatures without problems, but we recommend filling it with cooled contents. A sudden temperature change, for example a hot oil phase poured into a cold bottle, can damage the glass.

The dropper is made of several materials: aluminium, silicone, plastic and glass. With concentrated essential oils and solvents, we recommend checking how the silicone bulb and the plastic parts behave in your specific formulation and during longer storage.

The set is suitable for contact with cosmetics, not with food. Do not use it for homemade oils, syrups or herbal extracts intended for consumption.

Both the bottle and the dropper can be reused after thorough washing. Before the next filling, check that the bulb still holds firmly and that the dropper seals properly. You can find closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters, and other ready-made combinations, in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and the dispensing with your specific formulation. After use, the glass bottle belongs in glass recycling; the dropper is made of several materials, so it is advisable to separate its parts before recycling.

Frequently asked questions

Does a clear glass bottle protect the contents from light?
No, clear glass lets light through and does not protect the contents from it. It suits preparations that are used up quickly, samples, or products stored in a box or in the dark. For light-sensitive ingredients such as vitamin C, retinol or unrefined vegetable oils, amber or blue glass is more suitable.
How much fits into a 10 ml glass bottle with dropper?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 10 ml, not to the brim. The brimful volume is larger and you will find it in the parameters, but the difference is a reserve for the dropper tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. An overfilled bottle overflows when the dropper is fitted and contaminates the thread.
Is a glass bottle with dropper suitable for essential oils?
Yes, the glass bottle is, but with the dropper it is advisable to check how it behaves in your specific blend. Glass does not react with essential oils and does not change their scent. The silicone bulb and the plastic parts of the dropper are more sensitive to prolonged contact with concentrated essential oils, so we recommend testing the seal and the condition of the bulb before long-term storage.
Can a glass bottle with dropper be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the dropper can be reused after thorough washing. Wash the bottle, disinfect the inside with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry. Rinse and dry the glass tube of the dropper, and wipe the bulb on the outside. Before the next filling, check that the bulb holds firmly and that the dropper seals on the neck.
Is a glass bottle with dropper suitable for alcohol tinctures?
Yes, glass is resistant to alcohol and does not affect the tincture in any way. A clear bottle with a dropper lets you dispense the tincture drop by drop while seeing its colour and clarity. For preparations with a high alcohol content, we recommend checking how the silicone bulb of the dropper behaves during longer storage. The set is intended for cosmetic use, not for tinctures for internal use.
