Clear Glass Bottle, Gold Black Dropper, 5 ml

A 5 ml glass bottle with a black-gold dropper is a complete vial and dropper set for cosmetic preparations dosed drop by drop. The clear glass reveals the contents – the colour of a serum, oil, or any sediment – and is suitable where the filling is meant to be part of the presentation. The small volume is practical for samples and mini packs as well as for concentrated preparations used just a few drops at a time: facial and oil serums, essential oil blends diluted in a carrier oil, oil perfumes, and trial batches of new formulations.

The dropper consists of a glass tube with a silicone bulb and an aluminium collar in a black-gold combination. Glass does not absorb the scent or colour of the contents and is easy to clean; the coloured collar gives the small bottle a neat appearance even without a label. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; it is not approved for contact with food and is not intended for food use.

What the set offers

• Drop-by-drop dosing – the dropper picks up a small amount and allows precise dispensing of concentrated actives or oil into the palm, without pouring and without finger contact with the contents.
• Visible contents – through the clear glass the filling is visible, which simplifies checking the quantity and appearance of the product, for example in samples for customers.
• Glass as an inert material – does not affect the scent or composition of the filling and is compatible with oils, alcohol-based and aqueous preparations.
• Small volume – suitable for preparations with a shorter shelf life after opening, for travel packaging, and for testing where filling large quantities does not make sense.

Suitable fillings

The set is most suitable for oil-based and alcohol-based preparations: oil serums, essential oil blends diluted in a carrier oil, oil perfumes, and tinctures for cosmetic use. It also works well for aqueous serums and tonics with lower viscosity that the dropper picks up easily. Thick gels and creams are difficult to dispense with a dropper; a pump or a jar is more suitable for those.

Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. Preparations sensitive to light and oxidation (for example serums containing vitamin C, retinol or oils rich in unsaturated fatty acids) are better stored away from direct light, or amber or blue glass should be chosen. In a clear bottle it makes sense to keep them only for a short period of use or as a sample.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume for which the packaging is intended under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference between them is the headspace for the dropper – the tube displaces part of the contents upwards when screwed in – and for the expansion of the filling with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; an overfilled bottle will spill when the dropper is screwed in. What to know before filling

Before first use we recommend washing and disinfecting the bottle and dropper with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. Residual water in the tube could spoil an anhydrous oil product. Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes, so fill with cooled, not hot, contents.

When changing the filling it is advisable to clean and disinfect the tube and bulb so that the scent of the previous product is not transferred. For recycling, the bottle goes with glass, while the dropper should be disassembled into the glass tube, aluminium collar, and silicone bulb.
