Product description

Plastic bottle with pump dispenser for liquid and cream products

A ready-to-use set consisting of a transparent PET bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a black pump dispenser with a 24/410 neck for products that need to be dispensed cleanly without unscrewing. The dispenser measures approximately 1 ml per press, the contents do not come into contact with fingers, and the transparent body shows both the colour and the remaining amount of product. Suitable for retail as well as home use.

The set is intended primarily for products with low to medium viscosity: body lotions, light creams, liquid soaps, shampoos, conditioners, facial cleansing gels, hand gels, massage and body oils, or serums with an oil base. The 100 ml volume corresponds to a travel size, a sample, or a smaller retail size.

Why choose this set

  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not touch hands and no impurities enter the bottle as they would when opening a jar. This is a practical advantage for emulsions and products with natural preservation.
  • Lightweight and durable material – PET withstands drops and transport. Suitable for the bathroom, travel, and shipping to customers.
  • Visible contents – the transparent bottle reveals the colour, consistency, and how much product remains. With visually interesting emulsions and gels, it acts as a presentation in itself.
  • Standard 24/410 neck – the components of the set fit together precisely, and the dispenser can be replaced at any time with another closure of the same neck type.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount for which the bottle is designed under normal filling conditions. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference provides clearance for the dip tube and the body of the dispenser, which occupy some space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Filling to the brim would cause the contents to be forced out through the neck when the dispenser is attached, soiling the outside of the bottle.

How to work with the set

The dispenser is screwed onto the bottle and tightened by hand. The dip tube is longer than the height of the bottle, so before first use it should be trimmed so that it ends just above the bottom. A tube that is too long will bend inside the bottle and the dispenser will not draw from the lower portion; a tube that is too short will leave unused product at the bottom. After trimming, check that the cut is straight and that the tube sits firmly in the body of the dispenser.

With a new formulation, verify that the dispenser draws the contents without difficulty and that the dose is full. Thick creams and butters with a high proportion of solid ingredients may clog the dispenser or require multiple presses; a jar or pot is more suitable for these. Very thin aqueous solutions can be handled by the dispenser, but the dose may drip after pressing. For tonics and hydrolats, a spray bottle is more practical.

Fill the product into the bottle using a funnel or a filling bottle with a narrow neck, and screw on the dispenser only after filling. The first few presses will fill the dip tube; the dispenser will only deliver a full dose after that.

PET bottles are filled cold. Allow hot emulsions to cool to room temperature before filling; warm contents may deform the bottle wall. For products with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol, or solvents, verify the behaviour of both the bottle and the dispenser with the specific formulation, especially during longer storage.

Transparent bottle and light

The transparent material does not protect the contents from light. With formulations containing light-sensitive ingredients such as unrefined vegetable oils, vitamin C, retinol, or certain plant extracts, expect faster changes in colour or scent in daylight. For such products, a dark bottle is preferable, or keep the transparent bottle out of direct light and fill it in smaller quantities for shorter use. Ordinary emulsions, liquid soaps, and shampoos with proven stability are in no way limited by transparency.

Good to know

  • Contact with cosmetics – both the bottle and the dispenser are declared suitable for use with cosmetic products; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. A declaration of conformity is provided with the product.
  • Contact with food – only the dispenser holds a food-contact certificate for direct contact with food. The bottle does not, so the set as a whole is not intended for food use.
  • Preparation before first filling – rinse the bottle with clean water, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave to dry completely with the neck facing down. Pump clean water through the dispenser several times and leave to dry.
  • Reuse – the set can be washed and refilled after emptying. Pump warm water through the dispenser until clean water comes out; for oily products, a weak solution of liquid soap helps. Residues of the old product in the tube would otherwise mix with the new fill.
  • Labelling – the bottle body allows a label to be applied around the circumference. Apply the label to a dry, degreased surface.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET, the dispenser of PP. Before disposal, unscrew the dispenser and sort both parts as plastic.

Do not expose the bottle to heat or direct sunlight; PET softens at higher temperatures and may deform. Store finished products at normal room temperature.

Other closures for this bottle

The bottle has a 24/410 neck and can be fitted with any closure of the same neck type from the Handymade range, as can other ready-made container and closure combinations. When using a custom combination, verify the seal, dispensing, and behaviour of the container with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump dispenser suitable for thick creams?
No, the dispenser is not suitable for thick creams and butters. It reliably draws products with low to medium viscosity, such as body lotions, light creams, liquid soaps, shampoos, and oils. With thick creams, the tube clogs or the dose comes out incomplete. A jar or pot with a lid is more suitable for such products.
Does the transparent PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, transparent PET does not block light. Products with light-sensitive ingredients, such as unrefined oils, vitamin C, or retinol, deteriorate more quickly in a transparent bottle exposed to daylight. A dark bottle or storage in the shade is more suitable for these. Ordinary emulsions, soaps, and shampoos with proven stability are not limited by transparency.
Can the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump dispenser be used for food?
No, the set as a whole is not intended for food use. Only the dispenser holds a food-contact certificate for direct contact with food; the bottle does not. Both the bottle and the dispenser are declared suitable for use with cosmetic products, so the set is intended for cosmetics.
Can the bottle with dispenser be washed and refilled?
Yes, the set can be reused after emptying. Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave to dry. Pump warm water through the dispenser until clean water comes out, then leave it to dry as well. Thorough rinsing of the tube is important; otherwise, residues of the old product will mix with the new fill.
Is the PET bottle with dispenser suitable for products with essential oils?
For standard concentrations of essential oils in finished cosmetics, a PET bottle is suitable. At high concentrations of essential oils, alcohol, or solvents, verify the behaviour of both the bottle and the dispenser with the specific formulation during longer storage, as some ingredients may gradually soften the plastic or cause cloudiness.
