Product description

Plastic bottle, brown, black dispenser, 300 ml is a ready-made set for filling liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic preparations that are to be dispensed with one hand and without opening the cap. The brown PET bottle reduces light access to the contents and the black 24/410 dispenser releases a measured amount with each press. The set is therefore particularly suitable for body lotions, facial emulsions, shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps and massage oils.

Both components have the same neck type, so the dispenser fits directly onto the bottle and seals properly. The 300 ml volume is a practical size for home production of a larger batch as well as for smaller product series.

Why choose this set

  • Light protection – brown-tinted PET transmits less light than clear plastic, which slows the oxidation of oils and the degradation of light-sensitive ingredients. It is not a completely opaque container, so store the filled bottle away from direct sunlight.
  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not come into contact with fingers and less air enters the bottle than with the wide neck of a jar. This reduces the introduction of microorganisms into the product, particularly with emulsions.
  • Lightweight and shatterproof – PET is considerably lighter than glass and can withstand a drop from a washbasin or shelf. Suitable for the bathroom, shower and travel.
  • Measured dose – each press releases approximately 1 ml of product. This simplifies usage instructions for the finished product and helps conserve the contents.

What products is it suitable for

The dispenser works best with contents of low to medium viscosity: body and facial lotions, light to medium-weight creams, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, liquid hand soaps, cleansing gels, massage, body and cleansing oils. Thick body butters, balms and very firm creams will not pass through the tube or only with difficulty. For these, a jar or pot is more suitable.

PET is a common material for both water-based and oil-based contents. For preparations with a high proportion of undiluted essential oils, fragrance compositions or solvents (for example, a higher proportion of alcohol or D-limonene) we recommend testing in advance whether the bottle material and the dispenser seal soften or become cloudy.

The dispenser tube is longer than the bottle. If it bends when fitted, trim it with a sharp knife or scissors so that it ends just above the bottom. This ensures the maximum amount of contents can be pumped from the bottle and the tube will not kink during pumping.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for during standard filling, and this is the figure stated on the label of the finished product. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and the body of the dispenser, which displace some of the contents upward when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise, once the dispenser is fitted, the contents will be forced out through the thread.

What is good to know when filling

  • Preparation before first filling – rinse both the bottle and dispenser, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the tube would dilute the first dose or introduce moisture into an anhydrous product.
  • Priming the dispenser – after filling and screwing on, press the head several times without product until the tube fills and the preparation begins to come out. The first few doses may be smaller.
  • Viscosity of emulsions – if the cream thickens more than expected after cooling, the dispenser will draw it slowly or with air bubbles. This can be resolved by slightly reducing the proportion of thickener or consistency agents in the formulation.
  • Repeated use – after thorough washing and disinfection, the set can be refilled. The procedure can be found in the frequently asked questions below.
  • Labelling – light or contrasting labels stand out well against the brown background. Bottle dimensions can be found in the parameters.
  • Heat – PET softens at higher temperatures and may deform. Allow hot emulsions to cool to at least room temperature before filling and do not store filled bottles near a radiator or in a window.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and the dispenser of PP. Separate them before disposal and sort each component according to the material code stated in the parameters.

The declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetics and for direct food contact applies to the black dispenser separately. The bottle is supplied in cosmetic and technical quality and no such declaration has been issued for it. The set as a whole is therefore not declared for food contact nor certified for cosmetics; it is intended for cosmetic and technical use. We recommend verifying the compatibility of specific contents with the packaging through your own stability testing.

Closures with the same neck type and further ready-made combinations of this bottle can be found in the Handymade range. When assembling your own combination, verify the seal, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the brown 300 ml plastic bottle with dispenser protect the contents from light?
Yes, the brown tint of PET transmits less light than clear plastic and slows the oxidation of oils and the degradation of light-sensitive active ingredients. However, it is not a complete barrier like an opaque container, so it is advisable to store the filled bottle away from direct sunlight. For very sensitive ingredients, consider also adding an antioxidant to the formulation.
Is the 24/410 dispenser suitable for thick creams and body butters?
No, the dispenser is intended for contents of low to medium viscosity. It pumps lotions, lighter creams, gels and oils reliably, but thick body butters, balms and firm creams will not pass through the tube or the dispenser will jam. For such products, a jar or pot with a wide neck is more suitable.
Why should the 300 ml bottle not be filled to the brim?
Because the tube and body of the dispenser take up some of the internal space when screwed in and the contents would be forced out through the thread. The total volume to the brim is larger than the nominal volume precisely to provide a reserve for the closure and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume stated in the parameters.
Can the plastic bottle with dispenser be used repeatedly?
Yes, after thorough washing and disinfection the set can be refilled. Flush the dispenser with warm water and a cleaning agent, then with clean water and allow to dry completely. Disinfect the bottle with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. With each new filling, check that the dispenser seal is not damaged and that the head does not leak.
Is the set of the brown bottle with the black dispenser approved for food contact?
No, the set as a whole is not declared for food contact. The declaration of suitability for direct food contact and for cosmetics applies individually only to the black dispenser; no such declaration has been issued for the brown PET bottle. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic and technical use, not for filling food products.
Does the PET bottle tolerate essential oils and alcohol-based preparations?
At typical cosmetic concentrations of essential oils in emulsions and oil blends, PET performs well. Undiluted essential oils, fragrance compositions with a high proportion of citrus components or preparations with a high alcohol content may over time cause the material to become cloudy, soften or compromise the dispenser seal. For such contents, carry out a test with a small quantity in advance and monitor the packaging for several weeks.
