Product description
A white plastic bottle with a white disc top cap, 100 ml, is a ready-made bottle and closure combination for liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by squeezing the bottle. The disc top opens by pressing one side of the disc, and you control the amount dispensed by the pressure on the bottle wall. The 100 ml volume suits shower gels, shampoos, liquid soaps, body lotions, toners and facial waters in travel or sample size.
The set is declared suitable for use with cosmetic products. Only the bottle has a certificate for direct food contact; the cap does not have such confirmation, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
What it is suitable for
The disc top works best with contents that are runny or of medium thickness. When you squeeze the bottle, a dose comes out through the opening in the disc; when you release it, the flow stops and you push the disc back. Thick creams and butters are difficult to dispense this way; a jar or a bottle with a pump is more suitable for them.
- Rinse-off cosmetics – shower gels, shampoos, conditioners and liquid soaps that you dispense with one hand directly in the shower.
- Body lotions and light emulsions – as long as they have a liquid consistency and can be squeezed out of the bottle.
- Toners, facial waters, hair rinses – water-based products, where the white body of the bottle shields the contents from light.
- Samples and travel packs – the 100 ml volume suits a smaller pack that does not take up space in your bag.
Nominal volume and filling
The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is usually somewhat larger. The difference provides a reserve for the closure and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes, so the bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. When you fill below the neck, there is room to close the bottle without pushing the contents into the thread.
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap and let them dry completely. Residual water in the packaging would dilute the product.
Good to know
The PET bottle is lightweight and, unlike glass, does not break, so it suits the bathroom and travel. The packaging is not intended for aggressive chemicals. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or solvents, first check how the material behaves with your specific formulation. Heat can deform plastic, so fill hot products only after they have cooled.
The tightness of the disc top cap depends on tightening it correctly onto the 24/410 neck finish and on whether the disc is pushed back after use. Before transport, check that the disc is closed, otherwise the contents may leak if the bottle is squeezed in luggage.
Caps with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation. The bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP, so for recycling they are separated as two different plastics.
The set as a whole is not approved for food contact. Only the bottle has a food-contact certificate; with this cap, use the packaging for cosmetics.
