Product description

Ready-made sprayer set: a white plastic bottle with a volume of 300 ml and a matte black mini trigger sprayer that disperses liquid contents into a fine mist. The opaque white wall reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, and the bottle is lightweight and unbreakable, so it holds up well in the bathroom, on the road and in a salon, where it is handled often. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

A sprayer with a smooth collar in a matte black finish gives the white bottle a clean, neutral look. It combines well with your own label and with a product line in the same style.

Suitable uses

The set is intended for thin, water-based or mildly alcoholic liquids. At a volume of 300 ml, these are usually body, hair or room products that are used up faster than facial preparations.

  • Facial and body toners – aqueous solutions with active ingredients, hydrosols and blends of them.
  • Hair sprays – leave-in conditioner sprays, detangling solutions, sea salt sprays.
  • Body and refreshing sprays – light fragrance mists and after-sun sprays with low viscosity.
  • Room and fabric sprays – water-alcohol blends with a fragrance composition or essential oils at a low concentration.
  • Disinfectant and cleaning solutions – for cosmetic tools and work surfaces in the salon.

Thick emulsions, milks, gels and pure oils will not disperse into a mist through a mini trigger sprayer. They either come out in a stream or block the nozzle. For such contents, a pump or a cap with the same 24/410 thread is more suitable.

Dispensing and using the sprayer

One press releases approximately 0.35 ml of liquid in the form of a mist. For toners and hair sprays, this is enough for one application onto the palm or directly onto the skin; for body and room sprays, the dose is usually repeated. After the first filling, the sprayer needs to be pressed several times to prime it until the tube and mechanism fill and the mist starts coming out evenly.

The sprayer tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle requires. Before fitting, it should be shortened so that its end reaches just above the bottom and does not bend. An angled cut at the end of the tube prevents it from sticking to the bottom and ceasing to draw liquid.

Cut the tube gradually. If it is too short, the sprayer stops drawing liquid before the bottle is empty, and the rest of the contents can no longer be sprayed.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume of 300 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The actual volume up to the rim of the neck is larger, and this difference is left free. It is needed for the tube and the sprayer mechanism, which push part of the liquid upwards when screwed on, and for contents that expand with changes in temperature. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim.

Good to know

Both the bottle and the sprayer have a 24/410 neck finish. You can find closures with the same type of neck and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Before the first filling, wash both parts, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. The sprayer is disinfected by pumping disinfectant solution through it and then clean water. The set is intended for repeated use. After emptying, simply rinse it, pump clean water through it and dry it. Dried residues in the nozzle can be loosened by briefly soaking the head in warm water.

The bottle is made of PET and the sprayer of polypropylene. For formulations with a high proportion of alcohol, essential oils, fragrance compositions or solvents, we recommend checking compatibility on a single bottle before a larger batch: watch for changes in the wall, the smell of the plastic and the behaviour of the nozzle after several weeks. For recycling, the two parts are separated and sorted as plastic.

Only the white bottle has a certificate for direct contact with food. The sprayer does not have one, so the set as a whole is considered packaging for cosmetics. For food purposes, the bottle needs to be combined with a closure that is also of food-grade quality.

Contents with a high concentration of alcohol or with an oil component can affect the seal and the sprayer mechanism over time. Always carry out a test on a single piece for a new type of formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the white plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the opaque white wall lets through significantly less light than clear plastic. It is therefore suitable for toners and sprays with plant extracts, vitamins or essential oils, which lose effectiveness or change scent in light. For long-term storage, it is still advisable to protect the bottle from direct sunlight, because the plastic does not filter out light completely.
Can the mini trigger sprayer be used for oil or an oil serum?
No, the mini trigger sprayer is intended for thin water-based and water-alcohol liquids. Pure oil, a thicker serum or an emulsion will not disperse into a mist, will come out in a stream and will eventually block the nozzle. For oil products in this bottle, a pump or a cap with a 24/410 thread is more suitable.
How much liquid fits in the 300 ml bottle?
The bottle is filled to approximately 300 ml, which is its nominal volume. The actual volume up to the neck is larger, but this space is left free as a reserve for the sprayer tube and for the expansion of the contents during warmer storage. If the bottle were filled to the rim, part of the liquid would overflow when the sprayer is screwed on.
How do I clean the sprayer before the next use?
The sprayer is cleaned by pumping warm water through it, followed by a disinfectant solution, for example ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. After disinfection, pump clean water through it again so that no residue of the solution remains in the mechanism, and leave both parts to dry freely. The bottle is washed in the usual way and disinfected in the same manner.
Is the set with the sprayer suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is declared for cosmetic products. Only the white bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food; the sprayer does not have such a certificate. If you want to use the bottle for food contents, combine it with a closure that is of food-grade quality.
