Product description

The amber plastic bottle with a mini trigger sprayer is a set for spraying thin, water-based cosmetic products, most often toners, hydrosols and refreshing sprays for the skin or hair. The amber tint of the PET bottle filters light, so hydrosols or toners with plant extracts, which are sensitive to light, keep their colour and fragrance for longer. The 100 ml bottle fits in a handbag as well as in a travel bag. PET is lightweight and does not shatter.

The matte black sprayer with a smooth collar gives the packaging a uniform look that matches the amber bottle. Both the sprayer and the bottle have a 24/410 neck finish, and the set includes both parts.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial toners and hydrosols – the sprayer disperses the liquid into a fine mist that is applied to the skin without cotton pads.
  • Hair sprays – thin hair tonics, scalp solutions or protein sprays that make combing easier.
  • Refreshing and body sprays – water-based sprays with solubilised essential oils, applied in a thin layer.

The mini trigger sprayer is designed for a liquid as thin as water. A different type of closure is suitable for oils and products thickened with gelling agents.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the volume the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The brimful capacity listed in the parameters is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the sprayer tube, for the air above the liquid and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Therefore, fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle overflows through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on, and the contents get into the thread.

One press of the sprayer dispenses approximately 0.35 ml, which for a full pack corresponds to hundreds of doses. When calculating the usage rate of active ingredients in a toner, count this amount as one application.

The sprayer tube is longer than this bottle needs. Before the first assembly, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. The diagonal cut prevents the tube from sticking to the bottom and the sprayer from drawing in air.

Good to know

Before the first filling, rinse the bottle and the sprayer with clean water, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. The sprayer is disinfected by spraying the disinfectant solution through it several times, followed by clean water.

Fill the bottle only after the contents have cooled down. The PET bottle is not designed for hot liquids, and at a higher temperature it may deform and the neck will then not seal. For the same reason, do not store the finished product in the sun or near a heat source.

For products with a higher proportion of essential oils, alcohol or other solvents, we recommend testing the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation. With longer contact with more aggressive contents, the plastic may soften, turn cloudy or absorb the fragrance.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity and technical documentation are provided with the product. It is not approved for contact with food.

If you want to replace the sprayer with another closure, in the Handymade range you will find caps, pumps and other sprayers with the same neck type, as well as ready-made combinations. With your own combination, we recommend testing the seal and dispensing with your specific formulation.

The bottle is made of PET and the sprayer of PP. Before recycling, unscrew both parts and sort them separately.

Frequently asked questions

Does the amber plastic bottle with a sprayer protect the contents from light?
Yes, the amber tint of the PET filters light and slows down changes in the colour and fragrance of the contents. The packaging is not completely light-proof, so store hydrosols and toners with extracts away from direct sunlight even in an amber bottle. For water-based products without a preservative, the packaging does not replace preservation.
How much fits into a 100 ml plastic bottle with a mini trigger sprayer?
The bottle is filled with 100 ml, which is its nominal volume. Physically it is larger, and you can find the brimful capacity in the parameters. The difference is needed for the sprayer tube and the air above the liquid, which allows the contents to expand when the temperature changes. A bottle filled to the brim overflows into the thread when the sprayer is screwed on, and the closure does not seal.
Can the plastic bottle with a mini trigger sprayer be reused?
Yes, after thorough washing and disinfection, both the bottle and the sprayer can be used again. Rinse the sprayer by spraying ethanol or isopropyl alcohol through it and then clean water, otherwise residues of the previous contents will remain in the tube and the nozzle. If the nozzle sprays unevenly or the mechanism loses pressure, replace the sprayer.
Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with a sprayer suitable for alcohol-based toners and sprays?
For water-based toners with a lower proportion of alcohol, the packaging is commonly used. With a high content of ethanol, essential oils or solvents, you need to test the behaviour of the PET bottle and the PP sprayer in the finished formulation, ideally on a trial pack. More aggressive contents may over time make the plastic cloudy, soften it or transfer a fragrance to it.
Can the mini trigger sprayer spray oil or a thick toner?
No, the mini trigger sprayer is designed for thin, water-based liquids. Oil and toners thickened with gelling agents pass through the nozzle with difficulty, a stream is produced instead of a mist and the mechanism clogs. For oils and thicker products, a bottle with a pump or a dropper is suitable.
Is the amber plastic bottle with a sprayer suitable for food?
No, neither the bottle nor the sprayer has approval for contact with food. The set is declared exclusively for cosmetic products, for example toners, hydrosols and hair or body sprays. For homemade syrups, oils or drinks, use packaging approved for food contact.
