Plastic flip top cap 24/410, black

Plastic flip top cap with a hinged lid is a closure for bottles with a 24/410 neck finish. It is suitable wherever the contents are dispensed frequently and with one hand – for shower gels, liquid soaps, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions or lighter facial emulsions. The lid flips open with a thumb, the contents are squeezed out through a small opening, and after snapping shut the bottle remains closed without unscrewing.

The black colour looks neutral and pairs well with clear, amber and white bottles, making it suitable for a consistent look across an entire product range.

Why choose a flip top closure

• One-hand dispensing – the lid flips open and closed with a thumb, which is practical in the shower or at a hand basin when the customer has wet hands.
• Controlled quantity – the contents come out through a small opening, so the bottle cannot be emptied all at once and the product is used more economically than with a standard screw cap.
• Less air contact – the opening is small and sealed after snapping shut, which limits drying of the contents at the neck.
• Polypropylene – the PP material is lightweight, resistant to common cosmetic ingredients and withstands repeated opening.

Which products is it suitable for

The closure is designed for liquid to medium-viscosity products that can be squeezed out of the bottle. It works best on softer plastic bottles with shower gel, liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, body or facial lotion, cleansing gel, massage or body oil.

It is less suitable for very thin, water-like products such as tonics or hydrolates. These flow out through the opening too easily and are better served by a spray pump. For thick creams and butters the opening is too small; a pump or a jar is more appropriate there. It can be fitted on glass bottles, but the contents cannot be squeezed out of them, so it serves mainly as a protective closure when pouring.

Good to know

Neck compatibility. The closure fits exclusively on bottles with a 24/410 neck finish. You will find the designation in the parameters of each bottle in the Handymade range, which also lists ready-made bottle and closure combinations. For a custom combination we recommend checking the seal with the specific formulation, in particular by turning the filled bottle upside down.

Preparation before first use. Before filling, wash the cap and optionally disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow it to dry completely. Residual moisture in the opening or under the lid could affect the microbiological stability of the product.

Essential oils and solvents. Polypropylene is among the more resistant plastics, but for products with a high proportion of essential oils, fragrance blends or alcohol we recommend checking whether the closure changes shape, colour or seal after several weeks. This does not apply to standard emulsions and surfactant bases.

Reuse. The closure can be reused after thorough washing. When switching to a different product, make sure no residue from the previous contents remains in the opening, as it could colour or scent the new product.

Recycling. This is single-material polypropylene, which belongs in the sorted plastic waste collection. Before disposal, simply separate the closure from the bottle.
