This is a screw-on plastic cap with a 24/410 neck finish, designed to close bottles and vials with the same neck type. It provides a standard closure without dispensing functionality. It is suitable wherever the contents are poured, decanted, or scooped, or where it serves as a transit closure in place of a pump or sprayer. The matte black finish is unobtrusive and complements both glass and plastic in dark, clear, and white shades, making it a good fit for serums, oils, tonics, tinctures, and liquid soaps in small to medium volumes.

The cap is made from polypropylene (PP), a lightweight and durable plastic that withstands common cosmetic ingredients and keeps contents reliably sealed when tightened correctly. Suitable applications

• Standard bottle closure – a straightforward cap for containers from which contents are poured or scooped: facial oils, tonics, hydrolats, liquid soaps, extracts, and tinctures.
• Transit closure – if you ship a product fitted with a pump or sprayer that may not seal reliably in transit, the cap closes the bottle for the journey and the dispenser is fitted by the customer on arrival.
• Storing intermediates – suitable for vials containing macerates, work-in-progress phases, or raw material samples where dispensing is not required.
• Consistent line appearance – matte black is repeated across several containers in the range, making it easy to coordinate an entire product line without mixing glossy and matte surfaces.

The cap fits any 24/410 neck. Bottles and vials with this neck finish, as well as ready-made container and closure combinations, are available from Handymade. When creating your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal with your specific formulation – particularly with thin aqueous contents, which reach the thread more readily when the bottle is inverted than thicker creams or oils.

Polypropylene handles aqueous, oil-based, and alcohol-based contents well at typical cosmetic concentrations. With concentrated essential oils, fragrance compositions, or solvents, we recommend testing the cap's behaviour in prolonged contact with the specific substance. In such containers the cap is better suited to short-term closure than to long-term storage of a neat essential oil.

Before first use, we recommend washing and sanitising the cap with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing it to dry completely. The same preparation applies to reuse – the thread and sealing surface are not damaged by routine washing provided the cap is not overtightened. Do not expose the cap to open flame or hot surfaces.

PP is a widely recyclable plastic; after use it can be placed in the plastics recycling stream.
