White-gold dropper is a closure for bottles with an 18/410 neck that dispenses liquid cosmetic preparations drop by drop. The contents do not spill or drip on their own — they are applied precisely where the customer needs them. The white colour with a gold detail suits products where the packaging should look clean while matching a coloured label.

Most commonly used for facial and oil serums, blends of carrier and essential oils, nail and cuticle care, beard oil, or concentrated active ingredients where every drop counts.

What the dropper consists of

• Glass tube – draws up and dispenses the contents; glass does not react with oils or essential oils and leaves no odour of its own in the contents.
• Silicone bulb – squeezing it draws the liquid in; when released, the dropper holds the liquid, and gentle squeezing dispenses it drop by drop.
• 18/410 screw closure – the plastic inner part with the thread seals the bottle; the aluminium sleeve gives the closure its gold appearance.

How to use the dropper

The dropper is screwed onto a bottle with an 18/410 neck in place of a standard cap. To dispense, squeeze the bulb, submerge the tube in the contents, and release to fill it. Gentle squeezing then delivers the contents one drop at a time. For standard oils and water- or alcohol-based solutions this is a reliable way to apply small, repeatable amounts.

Once fitted, the dropper occupies part of the internal space of the bottle. For this reason the bottle should be filled only to the nominal volume, not to the rim of the neck. The headspace between the nominal and total volume is reserved for the dropper tube and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents will overflow when the dropper is screwed on.

Suitable contents

• Carrier and essential oils – the glass tube does not react with them; dosing is precise even with thicker oils.
• Water-based serums – light serums and tonics with active ingredients, applied a few drops at a time to the face.
• Alcohol-based preparations and tinctures – drop-by-drop dispensing without spilling.
• Concentrates and active ingredients – wherever a small, precisely measured amount needs to be added to a formulation.

With more viscous contents (thick oil blends, serums with a higher thickener content) the bulb fills more slowly and the drops are larger. We recommend verifying suitability for a specific formulation by testing: fill the bottle, leave it to stand for several days both upright and on its side, and check for leaks and the condition of the bulb.

Good to know

Before first use it is advisable to wash and disinfect the dropper (with isopropanol or ethanol) and let it dry completely, especially when filling a leave-on product with no strong preservative system. The bulb may deteriorate after prolonged use with strong solvents or a high proportion of essential oils, so inspect it when refilling.
