Product description

White foamer bottle 500 ml turns a thin cleaning product into a thick foam that clings to vertical surfaces and does not run off. The active ingredient stays in contact with the dirt longer than with a standard spray. The set consists of a white PET plastic bottle and a black trigger sprayer with foamer, ready for immediate use without searching for a suitable closure.

The set is suitable for foaming kitchen and bathroom cleaners, degreasers, glass and shiny surface cleaners, upholstery and carpet products, and car care products. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, so the set can also be used for foaming rinse-off cosmetic preparations. The set is not approved for contact with food.

Why foam instead of spray

  • Foam stays in place – on tiles, in the shower, or on oven doors it remains where applied and does not run off before it has time to work.
  • Economical dosing – each trigger press delivers a measured amount that, once foamed, covers a larger area than the same volume of liquid.
  • Less aerosol in the air – the foamer does not produce a fine mist, so less is inhaled during use and the product does not drift onto surrounding surfaces.
  • Visible coverage – the white foam shows where the product has already been applied and where it has not.

How the foamer works and what the contents need

The trigger sprayer draws liquid through a dip tube from the bottom of the bottle and mixes it with air in the head through a mesh, where the foam forms. This means that foam does not form from every liquid. The contents must contain surface-active substances (surfactants) and have a low viscosity close to water. Thicker gels, products without surfactants, or clear aqueous solutions without foaming components will not be processed by the foamer and come out as a stream of liquid or only weak foam.

The quality of the foam is also affected by the type and quantity of surfactants in the formulation. If the test produces a thin, quickly collapsing foam, the usual remedy is adjusting the formulation – a different ratio or type of surfactant, or a foam stabiliser – not changing the closure.

Before filling the entire batch, we recommend testing the sprayer with a small amount of the finished product. A few presses will confirm whether the foam holds, whether it is not too thin, and whether the foamer mesh does not become blocked.

Nominal volume and headspace when filling

Nominal volume is the quantity for which the bottle is designed for normal filling. Total volume to the brim is larger, representing the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference provides headspace for the sprayer head with its dip tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Overfilling may cause the contents to spill when the sprayer is screwed on, and the foam behaves erratically on the first press.

Preparation, filling and reuse

Before the first fill, we recommend rinsing the bottle, sanitising it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and letting it dry completely. The sprayer only needs to be rinsed with clean water. After filling, the head is screwed onto the 28/410 thread, tightened by hand, and the system is primed with the first few presses until foam emerges.

The set is suitable for repeated use. When changing the contents, it is sufficient to rinse the bottle and flush the sprayer with clean water, so that residues of the previous product do not leave deposits in the foamer mesh. It is also advisable to flush the head with water when a full bottle will not be used for several weeks. Dried surfactant in the head impairs foaming.

A self-adhesive label on the body of the bottle is suitable for identifying the contents.

What is good to know

  • Heat – PET deforms at higher temperatures. Do not pour hot solutions into the bottle; allow the contents to cool to room temperature before filling.
  • Aggressive chemicals – concentrated acids, strong alkalis, chlorine-based products, and organic solvents can damage both the PET and the sprayer seal. We recommend verifying compatibility with such contents in the finished formulation and monitoring the bottle and head for several weeks.
  • Essential oils – at higher concentrations they stress the plastic and may impair foaming. In aqueous cleaning products with a low proportion of fragrance they are usually not a problem; in anhydrous or oil-based systems the set is not suitable.
  • Solid particles – products with abrasives or undissolved sediment block the foamer mesh. The contents must be clear or homogeneously dissolved.
  • Fill level – the white opaque wall does not show how much product remains. In use, this becomes apparent only when the foam weakens. If you need to monitor the quantity, a clear bottle with the same neck type is more suitable.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET, the sprayer of PP. Before placing them in recycling, we recommend separating the two parts.

Other closures with the same neck type and further ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing, and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

The set is not intended for food or beverages. Neither the bottle nor the sprayer holds food-contact approval; use them exclusively for cleaning and cosmetic products.

Frequently asked questions

What contents will produce thick foam in a sprayer with a foamer?
Thick foam is produced only by a thin aqueous product with sufficient surfactant content. The foamer mixes the liquid with air through a mesh, so gels, thick solutions, and products without surface-active substances do not foam or come out as a stream of liquid. If the foam does not hold or collapses quickly, adjust the formulation, not the closure.
Is the white 500 ml foamer bottle suitable for cosmetics?
Yes, both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set can therefore be used, for example, for foaming rinse-off cosmetic preparations. The set is not approved for contact with food, so it is not suitable for syrups, oils, or other food products.
Can a cleaner with chlorine or solvent be filled into the white PET foamer bottle?
We recommend verifying this in advance, as aggressive chemicals can damage both the PET and the sprayer seal, and the bottle should not be exposed to them. Common aqueous cleaning products with surfactants, mild acid, or a low proportion of alcohol are tolerated by the set. With strong concentrates, fill a test quantity and monitor the bottle and head for several weeks.
Why is the 500 ml foamer bottle not filled to the brim?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume because the headspace above it serves the sprayer head with its dip tube and allows for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The total volume to the brim is greater than the nominal volume but is not intended for filling. When overfilled, the contents spill during screwing on and the foam is unstable on the first presses.
How is the sprayer with a foamer cleaned when changing the contents?
It is sufficient to flush the sprayer with clean water until clear liquid free of foam comes out, and to rinse the bottle. Dried surfactant residues in the foamer mesh impair foaming, so flushing is worthwhile before longer storage as well. Before a new product, the bottle can be sanitised with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry.
