Aluminium bottle, clear mini trigger sprayer, 100 ml

The aluminium bottle with mini trigger sprayer is a ready-made set for 100 ml of liquid cosmetics applied by spraying: facial toners, hydrosols, hair sprays, refreshing body sprays, aftershave splashes or thin oil sprays. Aluminium does not let light through, so the contents are fully shielded, which you will appreciate with formulations containing light-sensitive ingredients. The bottle does not break when dropped, so it copes well with travel, being carried in a bag and use for handing out samples. The clear sprayer with a 24/410 neck finish fits directly on the bottle neck, without adapters or additional parts.

Bottle and sprayer together

The silver bottle has a smooth cylindrical shape and a nominal volume of 100 ml. The sprayer has a smooth collar made of clear plastic, so the pump mechanism stays visible. It dispenses mechanically, without a propellant. One press releases approximately 0.3 ml of the contents as a fine mist. The dip tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle and is trimmed before first use so that it ends just above the bottom.

The sprayer is intended for contents with low viscosity. Water, hydrosols, alcohol solutions, light oils and clear water-based serums are sprayed evenly. Thicker oils, lotions or gels are either not pumped through the mechanism or are ejected in drops instead of mist. For thin emulsions, we recommend checking the behaviour with a trial fill.

Nominal and brimful volume

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed to hold when filled normally. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them forms a reserve for the tube and the lower part of the sprayer, which push part of the contents upwards once fitted, and for the expansion of the liquid when the temperature changes. For this reason the bottle is filled up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle overflows when the sprayer is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Spray the disinfectant solution through the sprayer several times so that the tube and the pump are cleaned as well.

The set can be used repeatedly. After water-based and alcohol-based contents, rinsing with clean water and drying is enough. Residues of oils are hard to remove from the pump, so when switching from an oil to a water-based content it is more sensible to use a new sprayer.

The inner protective layer of the bottle is not stated in the source materials. For water-based formulations with low or high pH and for contents with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing the behaviour of the bottle and the plastic sprayer with your specific recipe before you start filling a larger batch.
