Black Plastic Bottle, HDPE, Black Spray, 500 ml

The HDPE plastic bottle, black, with black trigger sprayer, 500 ml is a ready-to-fill set of an opaque plastic bottle with a fitted trigger sprayer, prepared for filling without searching for a suitable closure. Black HDPE does not allow light through, so it protects light-sensitive contents. It is also lightweight and shatterproof, which you will appreciate wherever the bottle is frequently handled – in a workshop, bathroom, during cleaning or in a salon.

The trigger sprayer dispenses contents in a fine mist with a single press of the lever. The dip tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so the contents are nearly fully used up. The set is suitable primarily for cleaning and disinfecting solutions, textile and room fresheners, hair sprays, alcohol-based solutions and aqueous solutions for repeated use. Both components of the set are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is not intended for contact with food.

What the set is suitable for

Thanks to the 500 ml volume and larger dose per press, the set is intended primarily for products applied to surfaces: homemade cleaning products for surfaces and glass, disinfecting solutions based on ethanol or isopropanol, anti-limescale products, fabric and laundry fresheners, aqueous solutions for plants or for moistening during ironing. In cosmetics, it is useful for rinse-off and leave-on hair spray products (for example solutions with hydrolat), for refreshing body sprays with low viscosity, or in a salon where larger doses are appropriate.

The set is not suitable for thick emulsions, gels or preparations with undissolved particles. The trigger sprayer is designed for thin, liquid contents; thick mixtures clog in the nozzle and spray unevenly.

Filling and volume

When filling, follow the nominal volume, not the volume to the brim. The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended for during normal filling; the total volume to the neck is physically larger. This difference is a reserve for the dip tube and the body of the sprayer, which occupy part of the space when screwed on, and also for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If you fill the bottle right to the neck, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is attached and the sprayer will have difficulty drawing.

Good to know

Before the first fill, wash and disinfect both the bottle and sprayer with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. When reusing, rinse the sprayer with clean water and spray several times to clear residues of the previous contents from the dip tube and nozzle – especially when switching from a cleaning product to a cosmetic preparation.

HDPE handles aqueous solutions, solutions with ethanol or isopropanol, and common cleaning products well. With a high proportion of undiluted essential oils, terpenes or aggressive solvents, first test the packaging behaviour with a small amount, as such contents may soften the plastic over time or permeate through it. Check the sprayer seal with each new formulation – a different composition may affect both the seal and dispensing.

The black packaging is opaque, so you cannot see the fill level. For products where you need to monitor consumption, bear in mind that the bottle needs to be shaken or weighed.

Both the bottle and sprayer are sorted as plastic. Before disposing of the sprayer, unscrew it and sort it separately.
