Clear plastic bottle, disc top cap, matte rose gold, 500 ml

A clear plastic bottle with a capacity of 500 ml and a disc top cap is a container for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic products dispensed one-handed directly into the palm: shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, conditioners, body lotions, or massage oils. The clear PET reveals the colour and texture of the contents, is lightweight, and unlike glass will not shatter if dropped, making it suitable for the bathroom, shower, or travel. The pink-gold matte cap with a white centre gives the bottle a neat appearance without any additional decoration.

How a disc top cap works

The disc top opens by pressing one side of the white centre, which flips open the dispensing aperture on the opposite side. Pressing it back closes the cap and the bottle can be set down or packed away. Contents are dispensed by squeezing the bottle, making this closure type suitable for products that flow freely or with light pressure.

• One-handed dispensing – the cap does not need to be unscrewed or set aside, which is especially convenient in the shower.
• Quantity control – the smaller aperture releases the contents gradually, so no more is dispensed than needed.
• Visible contents – the clear wall makes it easy to see how much product remains.
• Mixed materials – the aluminium shell of the cap combined with a PP interior delivers a metallic appearance together with the seal of a plastic closure.

Which products it suits

The 500 ml capacity suits products with higher consumption, such as family-size packs and everyday-use products.

• Shampoos and shower gels – medium-viscosity surfactant products flow smoothly through the aperture.
• Liquid soaps and bath foams – dispensing by squeezing the bottle is natural for these products.
• Conditioners and body lotions – suitable for thinner emulsions that flow down to the neck of the bottle when squeezed.
• Massage and body oils – the aperture dispenses oil in a thin stream without spilling.

Very thick creams, butters, and balms are difficult to push out of the bottle and part of the contents remains on the walls. For these, a jar or tub is more practical. Thin, watery products such as tonics are better dispensed with a spray pump.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a margin for the closure and for the expansion of the contents with temperature change. A bottle filled to the brim may overflow when closing, so it should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the top.

What is good to know

Preparation before filling. Wash the bottle and cap before first use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Residual water inside the container increases the risk of microbial contamination of the product.

Filling temperature. The bottle must be protected from heat, so fill only once the product has cooled down. It is not intended for hot filling or sterilisation by boiling.

Light. The clear wall does not protect the contents from light, which should be taken into account for products containing vegetable oils prone to oxidation or natural colorants.

Labelling. The bottle dimensions required for label design are listed in the product parameters.

Sorting. The bottle is made of PET; the cap combines aluminium with plastic. Separate the two components before sorting for recycling.
