Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for when filled normally. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is always somewhat larger. The difference forms a reserve for the dip tube and pump mechanism and for the expansion of contents with temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise the contents will be pushed out through the neck when the pump is screwed on.

Preparation and filling

Before first filling, we recommend washing both the bottle and the pump, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. Moisture remaining in the bottle dilutes the product's preservative system and may shorten its shelf life.

PET withstands normal ambient temperatures, but not hot filling. Allow emulsions and gels to cool to approximately room temperature before filling; hot contents may deform the bottle. If you reuse the bottle, wash it and rinse the pump with clean water before refilling to ensure no residue of the previous product remains in the mechanism.

Good to know

The transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. For products containing light-sensitive ingredients, such as certain vegetable oils, essential oils, or vitamins, it is advisable to store the packaging away from direct sunlight or to choose a dark container.

PET and essential oils. Pure essential oils, their high concentrations, and solvents can damage plastic over time. The set is intended for finished cosmetic products with a standard fragrance content, not for pure essential oils. If you are unsure about the behaviour of a specific formulation, we recommend a test fill and inspection after a few weeks.

Pump mechanism combines plastic parts with an aluminium element. Aggressive, strongly acidic or alkaline formulations may damage it over time; compatibility should be verified in the finished product.

Intended use. Both the bottle and the pump are declared for contact with cosmetic products. The set is not intended for food use.

Labelling. The smooth cylindrical shape of the bottle is easy to label. With a transparent bottle containing coloured contents, bear in mind that the product colour will affect the appearance of a translucent label.

Recycling. The bottle is made of a single material and belongs in the sorted plastic waste collection. The pump contains multiple materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
