Product description

This is a ready-made set of a transparent plastic bottle with a 100 ml capacity and a white pump dispenser, solving both filling and dispensing at once. It is suitable for products you want to dispense in small measured doses without opening the container: body lotions, light creams, serums, gels, liquid soaps or facial oils. The bottle is made of PET, so it is lightweight and shatterproof, and through the transparent wall you can see the colour and the remaining amount of contents. Both parts have the same neck type, so the pump fits directly onto the bottle thread and the two pieces are compatible.

The packaging as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The pump alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the bottle does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic preparations.

Which products is the set suitable for

The pump works reliably with contents of liquid to medium-viscosity consistency. It dispenses body and facial milks, light emulsions, gel serums, liquid soaps, thicker micellar waters and vegetable or massage oils well. With thick creams, butters or pastes the dose is difficult to draw and the pump may clog. For such products, jars or containers with a wide neck are more suitable.

The transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. It is therefore most suitable for formulations that are not light-sensitive, or for products that are consumed quickly and stored away from direct sunlight. For contents with a higher proportion of unstable active ingredients, vitamins or essential oils, we recommend dark glass.

How the pump dispenses

Each press releases the same measured dose of approximately 1 ml, so the user does not need to estimate the amount and the product is not degraded by repeated opening. The contents are drawn up through a dip tube from the bottom of the bottle. Before first use, the head is pressed several times until the system is primed. The closed dispensing system also limits air and finger contact with the contents, which is an advantage for emulsions and products with a lower preservative dose.

The pump dip tube is supplied with a length allowance. Before assembling the set, trim it with a sharp knife or scissors so that it reaches just above the bottom of the bottle and is slightly angled. The pump will then draw out almost all the contents without clogging.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed to hold during normal filling, and this is the capacity stated on the label. The total volume up to the rim is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference between the two is the allowance for the pump dip tube and expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, once the pump is fitted the contents would be forced out through the thread. The exact values for both volumes can be found in the product parameters.

What is good to know

Preparation before first filling – rinse both the bottle and the pump before use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the dip tube could compromise the preservation of the product.
Contents temperature – PET is not designed for hot filling. Allow emulsions and gels to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the bottle wall may deform.
Material sensitivity – a PET bottle cannot withstand prolonged contact with undiluted essential oils, acetone and similar solvents that may cloud or soften the wall. For products with a higher proportion of alcohol or essential oils, test the behaviour of the packaging on a single unit before a larger batch.
Reuse – the set can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. Flush the pump by pumping warm water through it several times to remove any residue of the previous product from the dip tube.
An opaque label also partially shields the contents from light.
Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and the pump of PP; separate them before disposal and sort as plastic.

Do not fill the set with hot contents or undiluted essential oils. For light-sensitive formulations, choose a dark container.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with pump suitable for cream?

Yes, if it is a light to medium-thick cream or lotion. The pump reliably draws up liquid and emulsion contents that can be poured or flow slowly. Thick creams, butters and pastes will not pass through the dip tube or may clog the pump. For these, a jar or container with a wide neck is more suitable.

Does the transparent PET bottle protect the contents from light?

No, a transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. It is therefore suitable for products that are not light-sensitive, or that are consumed quickly and stored in the shade. Formulations with unstable active ingredients, vitamins or a higher proportion of essential oils are better filled into amber or blue glass.

How much product fits in the 100 ml bottle with pump?

The bottle is filled to the nominal 100 ml, not more. The physical volume of the bottle up to the rim is slightly larger, but this difference is the allowance for the pump dip tube and expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If filled to the brim, once the pump is fitted the contents would overflow through the thread and the pump might not seal properly.

Why does the pump not dispense anything on the first press?

The pump needs several empty presses before first use until the dip tube and dispensing chamber are filled with the product. If no dose appears even after repeated pressing, check whether the dip tube reaches the product and is not too long and bent at the bottom of the bottle, or whether the product is too thick for the pump.
