Product description

A white plastic bottle 250 ml with a white pump is a ready-made packaging for products dispensed by pressing: liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, facial cleansing gels and lighter body lotions. The pump delivers approximately the same dose with each press, the contents do not touch hands and the bottle does not need to be opened during use.

The bottle is made of PET. It is lightweight, will not break if dropped and withstands everyday use in the shower or at the sink. The opaque white wall conceals the contents and lets through less light than clear plastic, which helps products with vegetable oils or coloured ingredients. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics and both the bottle and pump are certified for direct food contact, so it can also be used for household oils, syrups or liquid dressings.

Suitable for products such as

Liquid soap and cleansing gels – hygienic dispensing without opening the bottle, one dose into the palm per press.
Shampoos, conditioners and shower gels – the plastic bottle withstands the humid bathroom environment and the pump is operated with one hand.
Body and facial lotions – lighter emulsions that the pump can draw up; thick creams and butters are not suitable for this packaging.
Micellar waters, tonics and makeup-removing oils – a precise dose onto a cotton pad or into the palm without spilling.
Food use – oil for seasoning, syrup for drinks or dressing, when dispensing should be even.

How the pump dispenses

One press delivers approximately 1 ml, which corresponds to a standard dose of liquid soap or shower gel. With thicker products, pressing is stiffer and the dose slightly smaller. If the pump does not draw up the product or the contents are sluggish, adjusting the formula to a lower viscosity usually helps. After filling and screwing on the pump, press it empty several times until the tube fills and it starts dispensing.

Before fitting, compare the length of the tube with the height of the bottle. If it bends at the bottom, trim it at an angle so that it ends just above the base. The pump will then draw up the remaining contents and as little product as possible is left in the bottle.

Filling and volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total volume up to the rim of the neck is greater. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and the pump body, which push some of the contents upward when screwed on, and for the expansion of the product when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

What is good to know

Before first filling, rinse both the bottle and pump with warm water, disinfect with alcohol and allow to dry completely. Residual water would dilute the product and could compromise its stability. For the pump, let the disinfectant solution pass through the entire mechanism and then pump clean water through in the same way.

PET is not designed for hot filling. Allow emulsions and gels to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the bottle wall may deform and the thread may no longer seal properly.

Concentrated essential oils, solvents and products with a high alcohol content should first be tested on a single bottle, as they can stress the plastic over time. The bottle has a 24/410 neck, so it can also be combined with other closures of the same neck type from the Handymade range. With a custom combination, verify the seal and dispensing with the specific formula. When recycling, separate the pump from the bottle – the bottle is made of PET and the pump of PP, i.e. different plastics.

Is the 250 ml plastic bottle with pump suitable for food?

Yes, both the bottle and the pump are certified for direct food contact, so the complete set can also be used in the kitchen. It is suitable for oils, syrups and liquid dressings that the pump can draw up. Before first use, wash the packaging and allow to dry just as you would with cosmetics.

What viscosity of products can the 24/410 pump dispense?

The pump handles liquid to medium-viscosity products, such as liquid soap, shampoo, shower gel, tonic or lighter body lotion. Thick creams, body butters and products with larger particles will not pass through the tube or will clog the pump. If you want to use the pump for an emulsion, formulate it thinner and verify the suction on a single bottle.

Can the plastic bottle with pump be reused?

Yes, both the bottle and pump are designed for repeated filling. Wash the bottle with warm water and a cleaning agent, pump clean water through the pump until it runs clear, then disinfect both parts with alcohol and allow to dry. When changing the type of product, for example from oil to gel, make sure to thoroughly remove residues of the previous contents.

Does the white PET bottle protect the contents from light?

The opaque white wall lets through less light than clear plastic and shields the contents from ordinary daylight. Products with sensitive vegetable oils or natural colorants will therefore keep better in a white bottle than in a clear one. Direct sunlight should still be avoided – the heat near a window stresses the product just as much as light.

Why is the bottle filled only to 250 ml and not to the brim?

The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 250 ml so that a reserve remains for the pump and the expansion of the contents. When screwed on, the tube and pump body push some of the product upward, and the product slightly increases in volume during warmer storage. If filled to the brim, the contents would overflow through the neck and the thread might not seal properly.
