Product description

A clear PET bottle with a volume of 200 ml and a mini trigger sprayer with a 24/410 neck finish make a ready-to-use set for water-based and alcohol-based preparations applied as a fine mist. It suits facial toners, hydrosols, hair and body mists or alcohol-based cleaning solutions. The bottle is light and shatter-resistant, and through the clear wall you can see the colour of the contents and how much is left. The white sprayer with a matte silver collar gives the pack a clean look.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity and technical documentation are available for both components. The set is not approved for contact with food.

What it is suitable for

  • Toners and hydrosols – thin water-based preparations pass through the nozzle without problems and form an even mist.
  • Hair and body sprays – hair mists, refreshing body sprays or fabric sprays.
  • Alcohol-based solutions – hand disinfectant sprays, air fresheners or home fragrances based on ethanol.
  • Working solutions in production – alcohol for removing bubbles from the surface of cold process soap or for disinfecting tools and moulds.

How the set works

The sprayer works mechanically, without a propellant. Each press draws a small dose of liquid up the tube and disperses it through the nozzle as a fine mist. It copes best with low-viscosity liquids, that is, water, hydrosols, alcohol-based solutions and thin solutions of active ingredients. The nozzle sprays thick serums, gels or vegetable oils poorly. The liquid comes out more as a stream or drops, and the mechanism clogs more quickly.

The tube is longer than the bottle and rests on the bottom once fitted. If it bends, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. The angled end ensures suction even when little content remains.

Fill up to the nominal volume of 200 ml, not to the brim. The reserve above this level is for the tube and the sprayer mechanism.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. Total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them is the space for the tube and the sprayer mechanism, which pushes part of the liquid upwards once screwed on. If you filled the bottle to the brim, the contents would spill over the thread when you closed it.

Good to know

A clear bottle does not protect the contents from light. For this reason, store hydrosols and preparations with essential oils or sensitive active ingredients away from direct sunlight. Prepare them in an amount that you will use within a reasonable time. If protection from light matters for your preparation, choose a dark bottle.

PET and heat. Do not fill the bottle with hot contents. Let the preparation cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the wall may deform. For the same reason, the bottle does not belong in a dishwasher or in direct sunlight.

PET and the composition of the preparation. PET tolerates common water-based and alcohol-based formulations well. With a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, or with strongly acidic or alkaline solutions, we recommend testing the behaviour of the material on one bottle for several days before filling the whole batch. The same test will also show the tightness and operation of the sprayer with your specific formulation.

Before the first filling, rinse the bottle with clean water, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer by placing the tube in clean water or alcohol and pressing the trigger several times.

Reuse. Once the content is used up, the set can be washed and used again. Rinse the sprayer with clean water so that no residue of the preparation dries in the mechanism, as it would later clog the nozzle. Pour in another preparation only after thorough cleaning and drying, otherwise the fragrances and ingredients will mix.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET, and the sprayer combines polypropylene and aluminium. Before disposal, separate the two parts and sort them by material.

Closures with the same 24/410 neck finish and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is a clear plastic bottle with a sprayer suitable for hydrosols?
Yes, hydrosols have a low viscosity and the sprayer disperses them into a fine mist. However, the clear wall does not block light, so store the hydrosol in the dark or in a fridge and fill only as much as you will use within a few weeks. For long-term storage of sensitive hydrosols, a dark bottle is more suitable.
Can I pour an alcohol-based solution into a PET bottle with a sprayer?
Yes, common alcohol-based solutions, for example a hand disinfectant spray or an ethanol-based home fragrance, are among the typical fillings for this set. With a high proportion of essential oils in alcohol, we recommend testing on one bottle whether the bottle material and the sprayer seal react with the content.
Can I spray oil with the sprayer?
No, the mini trigger sprayer is designed for thin liquids and disperses vegetable oils poorly. The oil comes out as a stream or drops and the mechanism gradually clogs. For oils and thicker serums, a bottle with a pump or a dropper is more suitable.
How do I clean a clear bottle with a sprayer before reuse?
Wash the bottle with warm, not hot, water and washing-up liquid, rinse it and disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Rinse the sprayer by pumping clean water and then alcohol through the mechanism. Let both parts dry completely before filling the bottle with a new preparation.
What other closure fits this bottle?
Any closure with a 24/410 neck finish fits the bottle. Ready-made combinations of this bottle with various closures are available in the Handymade range. When changing the closure, always check the tightness with your chosen content, especially with alcohol-based solutions and preparations with essential oils.
