Product description

A plastic bottle with a transparent sprayer and a silver glossy ring is a ready-to-use spray set with a volume of 200 ml: a PET bottle and a mechanical sprayer with a 24/410 neck finish that fit together without searching for a separate closure. Suitable wherever content is applied by spraying – for facial tonics, hydrolats and mists, hair sprays, air fresheners and thin cleansing products, as well as room or fabric sprays with a water base.

The transparent bottle shows how much content remains and what colour it is. PET is lightweight and will not break if dropped in the bathroom or during transport. The silver glossy ring on the sprayer is made of aluminium and visually distinguishes sprays from other products in the range. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.

How the set works

The sprayer works mechanically: each press of the head draws liquid through the dip tube from the bottom of the bottle and releases it in a fine, even dose. A small dose per press is an advantage with tonics and mists, where the product should spread across the skin or hair without running. For products applied in larger quantities, such as cleaning sprays for larger surfaces, expect multiple presses.

The sprayer's dip tube is longer than the bottle. Before fitting it for the first time, trim it so that it reaches just to the bottom; this allows the remaining content to be fully emptied.

Which contents is it suitable for

Water-based and hydrolat products – tonics, mists, make-up removal waters, leave-in hair conditioners in spray form. A thin consistency is the most suitable for a mechanical sprayer; the dose is fine and even.
Light emulsion sprays – very thin milks and two-phase products that are shaken before use. With thicker emulsions, the sprayer may clog or only jet the liquid in a stream, so we recommend checking behaviour with a sample.
Cleaning and household sprays – thin surfactant solutions, vinegar or herbal cleaners, air and fabric fresheners.

Oil products do not belong in this set. Oils are too thick for a mechanical sprayer, they do not form a mist and the mechanism quickly clogs up. For oils, a bottle with a dropper or pump is more suitable.

The PET bottle is intended for water-based and standard cosmetic contents. With undiluted essential oils, high alcohol concentrations or solvents, first check compatibility with the material – they can cause cloudiness or softening of the plastic.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling, and this figure belongs on the label. Total volume to the rim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is the headspace for the sprayer dip tube, for the air above the liquid, and for slight expansion of the content with temperature change. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the rim – an overfilled bottle will overflow through the neck thread when the sprayer is attached.

What is good to know

Before the first fill, wash and sanitise both the bottle and the sprayer with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely; traces of water in the dip tube would dilute the first doses of the product. The set can be used repeatedly. When changing the content, simply rinse the sprayer with clean water and pump a few times into the air.

With a transparent bottle, bear in mind that the colour of the content becomes part of the product's appearance – tinted tonics or herbal infusions will show through the wall in full colour.

Content in a transparent bottle is not protected from light. For formulas sensitive to light (vitamin C, some plant extracts, unpreserved hydrolats) a dark glass container is more suitable, or store away from direct sunlight.

The bottle is made of PET and belongs in plastic waste. The sprayer combines plastic and aluminium; separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 200 ml plastic bottle with sprayer suitable for hydrolats and tonics?

Yes, water-based products such as hydrolats, tonics and facial mists are the most suitable contents for this set. The mechanical sprayer releases them in a fine mist that spreads across the skin without running. With preservative-free hydrolats, allow for a shorter shelf life and keep the bottle out of sunlight – transparent PET does not block light.

Can oil be filled into this bottle with a sprayer?

No, oil products are not suitable for a mechanical sprayer. Oil is too thick for the head to atomise into a mist; it will jet out in a stream or the mechanism will clog up. For oils and oil serums, we recommend a bottle with a dropper or pump. An exception is very thin two-phase sprays where oil makes up only a small part of the content and the product is shaken before use.

How many millilitres should the 200 ml bottle be filled to?

Fill to the nominal volume of 200 ml, not to the rim. The total volume up to the neck is slightly larger, and this difference serves as headspace for the sprayer dip tube, the air above the liquid, and expansion of the content with temperature change. If you overfill the bottle, the content will overflow through the neck thread when the sprayer is screwed on and the product will be wasted.

How is the bottle with sprayer cleaned and can it be reused?

Yes, the set is intended for repeated use. Before the first fill, wash both the bottle and the sprayer, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry. When changing the content, rinse the sprayer with clean water and pump a few times into the air to remove the previous product from the dip tube and head. Trim the dip tube to just reach the bottom when fitting it for the first time.

Can the PET bottle with sprayer withstand alcohol and essential oils?

The PET bottle handles standard cosmetic contents with a low alcohol content and diluted essential oils without any issues. With high alcohol concentrations, undiluted essential oils or solvents, first check compatibility with a sample – they can cause cloudiness or softening of the plastic. Also do not expose the bottle to aggressive chemicals and high temperatures.

Is this set approved for food contact as well?

No, the 200 ml plastic bottle with sprayer is not declared for food contact. The set is intended for cosmetic products, for which both the bottle and the sprayer have a declaration of suitability. For home oils, syrups or herbal infusions for consumption, choose packaging that has a food contact certificate stated in the specifications.
