Product description

A plastic bottle 750 ml with a dropper and black cap is designed for larger quantities of thin liquids dispensed sparingly, drop by drop or in a thin stream. The transparent wall shows the colour of the contents and how much remains. Plastic is lightweight and shatter-resistant on impact, which is practical in the bathroom, workshop, and during transport.

The set consists of three parts: the bottle, a dropper fitted into the neck, and a cap. It is suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The bottle and cap individually hold food-contact certification, but the dropper does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

How the set dispenses and seals

The dropper fits into the bottle neck and narrows its opening. This prevents the contents from pouring out all at once. When tilted, the liquid flows drop by drop or in a thin stream depending on its viscosity. At a large volume this is practical: a small amount can be taken from a full bottle without a funnel and without spilling.

The cap screws onto the neck over the dropper and seals the bottle. The black colour contrasts with the transparent bottle body and covers the neck along with the dropper.

The flow rate depends on the viscosity of the contents. Thin oils and aqueous solutions flow through the dropper smoothly; thick gels, milks, or viscous surfactant blends are difficult to dispense through it. It is worth testing dispensing on a small sample before filling the entire batch.

Which products it suits

The volume and dispensing method make the set suited to liquid products consumed gradually and in small amounts:

  • Massage and body oils – a thin stream makes it easy to dispense into the palm without unnecessary waste.
  • Hydrolats, facial and hair waters – thin aqueous preparations can be dripped onto a cotton pad or directly into the palm.
  • Oil blends and liquid raw materials in stock – the transparent wall allows monitoring of the remaining amount and any changes in appearance.
  • Bath oils and thin concentrates – the dropper helps measure out a smaller dose than an open neck would allow.

For creams, thick shampoos, and shower gels, closures with a larger opening or a pump are more suitable.

Nominal and total volume

Two figures are distinguished for packaging. Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them creates a reserve for the dropper, which extends into the neck, and for expansion of the contents with temperature change. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

What is worth knowing before filling

Before first use, wash and sanitise the bottle, dropper, and cap with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow them to dry completely. The bottle is filled without the dropper. The dropper is pressed into the neck only after filling, and then the cap is screwed on.

Plastic does not tolerate high temperatures the way glass does. Fill with cooled contents and do not boil the packaging. For products with a higher proportion of essential oils, alcohol, or solvents, we recommend a compatibility test on a small sample.

The transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. Products containing vegetable oils prone to oxidation, essential oils, or natural dyes should be stored in a cupboard or in the dark, away from direct sunlight.

The bottle, dropper, and cap can be reused. Before refilling, wash and sanitise all parts again and check that the dropper still fits securely in the neck.

Dimensions needed for label design are listed in the parameters, as is the material designation of each part. Further closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing, and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 750 ml plastic bottle with dropper suitable for food?
The set as a whole is not intended for contact with food; it is intended for cosmetics. The bottle and black cap individually hold food-contact certification, but the dropper does not. For oils, syrups, or extracts intended for consumption, choose a combination in which all parts in contact with the contents carry the certification.
Which liquids is the 750 ml plastic bottle with dropper suited to?
The bottle with dropper is suited to thin liquids such as oils, hydrolats, facial waters, and aqueous or oil-based solutions. Thick gels, creams, and viscous shampoos flow through the narrowed opening slowly or not at all. For thicker products a closure with a larger opening or a pump is therefore more practical.
Does the transparent plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
No, the transparent bottle lets light through and does not protect the contents from it. Its advantage is that the colour, clarity, and remaining amount of the product are visible. Light-sensitive preparations, such as oils prone to oxidation or products with essential oils, should be stored in the dark, or you can choose packaging made from dark material.
How is the bottle with dropper filled and what is its capacity?
The bottle is filled without the dropper to the nominal volume of 750 ml, not to the brim. The headspace below the neck is a reserve for the dropper and for expansion of the contents with temperature change. After filling, the dropper is pressed into the neck and the bottle is sealed with the cap. The contents should be cooled before filling; plastic does not tolerate hot filling.
Is the plastic bottle with dropper suitable for products containing alcohol or essential oils?
For products with a higher proportion of alcohol, essential oils, or solvents, suitability must first be verified. Some of these ingredients can degrade plastic over time. We recommend filling a small sample, leaving it for an extended period, and monitoring the bottle, dropper, and the contents themselves. Only then does it make sense to fill the entire batch.
