Clear round plastic bottle with flip top, 750 ml

This is a set of a 750 ml plastic bottle and a white flip top cap, ready for direct filling. The transparent round bottle shows the contents and their colour, the flip top allows one-handed opening and dispensing without unscrewing, and the lightweight shatterproof plastic is suited for the shower or bathroom where glass would be a hazard.

The 750 ml volume is suited for products used frequently and in larger amounts: shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps, body lotions and conditioners. The set is also approved for direct food contact, so it can be used for home-made oils, syrups or herbal infusions.

How to work with the set

The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the volume the container is designed for under normal filling; the total brim-full volume is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the cap and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes. If you fill the bottle to the neck, the contents will be forced out through the flip top opening when the cap is snapped shut or when the bottle warms up in the shower.

The flip top dispenses liquid to medium-viscosity products best: shampoos, gels and lotions flow out through the opening when the bottle is tilted and pressed. Very thick creams or pastes are difficult to dispense and leave residue in the opening. Thin contents, such as oils or tonics, flow out faster, so dispense them with more care.

Suitable for products such as

• Shampoos and conditioners – larger volume and one-handed opening in the shower are the main reasons the flip top is used for hair care products.
• Shower gels and liquid soaps – liquid to gel products flow evenly through the opening; the transparent bottle shows the colour of the gel.
• Body lotions and emulsions – medium-viscosity emulsions are dispensed by squeezing the bottle; verify suitability for thicker textures.
• Massage and body oils – the transparent container shows the clarity of the oil; the flip top allows dispensing a small amount; for formulations with essential oils, see the note below.
• Home-made oils, syrups and infusions – thanks to food contact approval, the set is also suitable for kitchen use, for example for herb oil or home-made syrup.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash both the bottle and cap, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the container could reduce the preservation efficacy of water-based products. The same procedure applies when reusing; unscrew the flip top, rinse the opening and check that the flap still closes firmly.

Clear plastic does not protect contents from light. Products containing light-sensitive ingredients, such as vitamin C, retinol or certain plant extracts, should be kept out of direct sunlight or stored in opaque packaging. For standard shampoos, gels and lotions this is not a limitation.

Plastic and concentrated ingredients. High doses of essential oils, neat solvents or higher concentrations of alcohol can soften or cloud some plastics on prolonged contact. At standard cosmetic-use levels this is not usually a problem, but with undiluted or heavily fragranced contents we recommend testing with a single bottle first.

Apply the label to the flattest part of the bottle. For shower products, choose a water-resistant label.

Closures. The set includes a white flip top that seals on the neck of this bottle. Recycling. Both the bottle and cap are plastic and, once emptied and rinsed, belong in the sorted plastic waste stream. Test reports and the declaration of conformity are available with the product.
