Product description
A transparent glass bottle 30 ml is designed for smaller packaging of liquid cosmetic products, particularly facial serums, oils and toners. Clear glass reveals the colour and clarity of the contents, and the customer can see how much product remains.
Glass tolerates contents that can be problematic for some plastics: essential oils, alcohol-based solutions and fragrance compositions. Depending on the chosen closure, the bottle dispenses by drops, by spraying or via a pump.
Suitable products
- Facial serums and oil blends – the volume corresponds to a standard serum size; a dropper dispenses the product drop by drop.
- Toners, hydrolats and facial waters – with a spray top, thin water-based products are applied directly to the skin.
- Perfumes and alcohol-based solutions – glass does not alter the scent of the contents and does not allow it to permeate.
- Essential oil blends and massage oils – the bottle can be refilled with a different blend after cleaning; glass does not absorb the previous scent.
- Samples and trial batches – in clear glass, cloudiness, sediment, phase separation or colour changes are immediately visible, making stability monitoring easier.
Clear glass and light sensitivity of the contents
A transparent bottle shows the contents, but does not protect them from light. For products unaffected by light, this is not an issue. Ingredients sensitive to light and oxidation — such as unrefined plant oils, certain essential oils, natural colorants or vitamins — will maintain their quality for a shorter time in clear glass.
Products with light-sensitive ingredients belong in dark glass. In a clear bottle, store them in a carton or a closed cabinet, away from direct sunlight.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended to hold under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides space for the dropper or pump tube and for the expansion of the contents at higher temperatures. Both values are listed in the product specifications.
Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow when the dropper or pump is fitted, and the contents will reach the thread and the label.
Closure
Closures with the same neck type as specified in the product parameters, as well as ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations, are available in the Handymade range. When combining components yourself, we recommend checking the seal and dispensing performance with your specific product.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the packaging is a risk especially for anhydrous and lightly preserved products.
- Warm contents – glass does not handle sudden temperature changes well. Let hot contents cool before filling, or pre-warm the bottle beforehand.
- Labelling – a label adheres well to clean, dry and degreased glass. The dimensions needed for label design are listed in the specifications.
- Contact with cosmetics – the packaging is suitable for use with cosmetic products; the declaration can be found in the product specifications.
- Recycling – glass can be recycled repeatedly. Place the bottle in the sorted waste collection empty and without the closure.
