Product description
The glass vial 12 ml is a small container for samples, concentrated serums, and preparations that are used up quickly. Clear glass shows the contents and the threaded neck allows combination with a cap, dropper, or spray pump. Suitable for facial serums, oil blends, tinctures, and concentrates, where customers appreciate small packaging. The rounded shape with no sharp edges sits comfortably in the hand.
What the 12 ml vial is suitable for
The small volume is practical wherever the product is dispensed by drops or used up within a few days. Typical uses:
- Samples and testers – 12 ml holds a trial amount of serum, oil, or toner for a few days of use.
- Concentrated serums and active blends – expensive active ingredients are sold in small packaging so the blend is used up before it loses efficacy.
- Oil blends and tinctures – glass does not react with essential oils or alcohol-based extracts, which is an advantage over standard plastics.
- Travel packaging – the bottle fits in a cosmetics bag and within the liquid limit for carry-on luggage.
Clear glass is an advantage for coloured oils and samples where you want to show the appearance of the product.
Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. Products with sensitive ingredients, such as vitamin C, retinol, or unrefined oils, should be filled into dark glass or stored away from light.
Nominal and total volume
For each container we list two volumes. Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them is the headspace for the closure or dropper and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow when closing, or the contents will seep around the thread when warmed.
If you are closing the bottle with a dropper, bear in mind that the glass tube of the dropper will displace some of the contents. Leave the volume above the nominal fill empty.
Closures and combinations
Closures with the same neck type as stated in the product parameters, and ready-made bottle + closure combinations, are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying seal integrity and dispensing with the specific formulation, especially for oil-based and alcohol-based contents.
Good to know
Preparation before filling. Bottles are not supplied sterile. Before first use, wash them, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water inside the bottle is a source of microbial contamination in anhydrous products.
Glass and heat. The bottle tolerates normal filling temperatures, but sudden temperature changes can damage the glass. Allow a hot mixture to cool before filling, and do not place a cold bottle directly into hot water.
Reuse. Glass can be washed and used again. When changing the contents, it is important to remove traces of fragrance and oil: use a washing agent, rinse thoroughly, and disinfect with alcohol.
Labelling. The rounded shape has a small label area; bottle dimensions are listed in the parameters. Standard self-adhesive labels adhere well to glass; for oil-based products, choose a label resistant to grease.
Suitability for cosmetics. The container is suitable for use with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is listed with the product.
Recycling. Once empty, the bottle goes into glass recycling; the closure is sorted according to its material.
